Thanks, I am wanting to put a top notch training program together in order to slice the learning curve in half. Players that come up in two years have a program for getting better. These programs will not help everyone, but will help those who can't get enough. The training tools have helped me and friends of mine progress to higher levels and to have more fun. I think the freestyle scene as a whole is so amazing and impresses me year after year. Players are learning faster and showing their skills everywhere. This is an awesome time to be involved in the sport of footbag.Richie

I don't think it needs a name. PS is easilly resolvable to either symposium or symple depending on the trick it's applied to.

Thanks to Mirken for resolving this hogwash.

PS is PS. Rippin', the inventor of Symposium, thought (at least for a time) what we now call "Symple" should also be given the Symposium add, which basically tells you it's all the same- just stylistically different. Funny though, he thought that "PS" should be "SP" because you do the Symposium before the Paradox, which is true, but it was too far gone by that point and albeit not worth arguing about- hmm, kind of like when some of you guys ran with "bee sauce" like fraternity streakers.

Yeah, so what were you guys (in this thread) saying about being stupid?

No idea, but I hear new absurd names every week.They're almost as bad as the toe stall / corpsegrinder name, us freestylers have a name identification crisis.

Yeh i realise that, but i have no control over what moves and names get added to the sport, because they are named by their inventors whether i like the name or not. thats why i said it was my opinion
and pixie and fairy have been around since like, forever, theres not much u can do to change them cos they are so entrenched. fortunately alot of moves with pixie and fairy in their names can be masked with other cooler names

If you're talking about sp instead of ps I disagree. You don't get the symposium add until the dexing leg lands back on the ground. If it doesn't, it's not symposium (it's symple). but you get the pdx add as soon as the dex is completed. Actually I'm not sure, when does the pdx add arrive in a ps (or sp) illusion? what if you bailed to the same toe (making it a far symple legover)?

Interesting theory, but since when is the order of move naming determined by when the add is completed?? The point of it being "Symposium Paradox" is that the "no plant while" (in other words, the plant) comes before the paradox motion.

In case you didn't know, "Symposium" came from the abbreviation "SMP", for "Same Pivot".

To address your question, I don't think it really matters when you "get" the add.

Yeah it doesn't matter, but it's interesting to think about!

I've had some big debates about footbag moves - in particular symposium and why it's called symposium and eventually had to concede that it was a ridiculous name, but now you've let me know where it comes from I can rekindle that debate! Thanks Ellis.

I tend to think you should get the add once you've completed that part of the move - so you shouldn't get a symposium add until you land again on that foot - Often when I try to hit whirlwind I'll start the symp dex and then bail onto a clipper - so I'm hitting spinning clipper with a pronounced hop off the support foot - Clearly I don't get the symposium add, yet if you were to write out in jobs what I'm doing as I do it (not after I've done) you'd have to say that I start a symposium dex (but don't finish it).

But ultimitaly I guess you don't get the pdx add until you start the next component - so if do a ps whirl, but then bail to the dexing toe it lose both adds when it gets to the toe. So I'm going to say that paradox and symposium happen at the same time and you can put them in either order.

I like Far and I thin that it sounds cool
