Melissa.......

Post by lightningbolt »

Hey, I new to Modified, I been lookin' around for a month or two and just now I register.

I been feelin frustaed by... I don't really know what just not hittin' mirage and shit been pissing me off. It's like should I even been freestylen? Yeah, but I been really ingoreing my flipside lately, I barely could toe stall that how bad it's been.... I ingored my stalls too, just today I got a inside stall.. both sides  and a outside stall so not bad for one days work. I been gettin back to basics so to speak by drillin' clippers and just my basic stalls and stuff. Tomorrwe, I gonna perfect ATW on strong side, and actullyy get ATW on flipside. The Lavers and Sandmaster are helping and Tricks of the Trade is really help full since I am the only freestyler (I am not really a freestyler yet) I know of in Alaska. Guess that it...

its good to hear about footbag in Alaska. It pleases me greatly. I am pleased.

Also, realize that with every attempt at a move, whether or not you hit it, you are getting better. So even when you have a bad day, and you cant seem to hit anything, it was better that not having played at all. And your body will thank you the next time you play. Keep on kicking!

Thanks, LinksYs!

Today, wasn't much. I had a short session for abou 30 minutes. I found if it any longer I get really mad that I can't get a legover (Sad, I know. What can I say, I suck :P ) I feel like I am getting closer. I don't think I am goning to make my goal of: Legover both sides by tommorrwe. But oh well! I will hopefully have a seesion tonight, they been kinda goning like this:

Streach- 5 min
Stalls (inside, toe, outside) - 10 min
Legover- 15 ish

Not big but, hey, it works for me. I think the legover will come soon, I just got to keep trying!

Just got done a session. It was about 40 minutes long. I think it went well, legover still eduleds me :( . Actually, I think I might take a break from the legover, and try for the butterfly (three add, whoo hoo). Because, when I do a legover the bag always falls right bettween my legs, if that makes sense and all I have to do is cacth it with a clipper. Smiple, right? Luckyly, I belive my clipper strong on that side so it wouln't be that much of trouable. (famouse last words  )

I think I tell you how I got into footbag. It all started around the begining of April, I was shopping for my sister birthday gift at this mall. Bored and broke, i was kinda bummed out. Then I saw it, there was three circle kicks, just passing the bag around. Mind you, these people weren't the prime expamle of footbag, they kinda sucked. They droped it almost every time someone new kicked. But for some reason, that I don't know of I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I was just amazed at how fun it looked. So, when I bought my sister gift, there was these huge ass bags. And I thought what the hell and bought a bag.

I loved that bag. It crocthed bag stuffed to the rims of beads. It was horriably made.; it strung a leak the day I got it. So, I kicked it, mostly with my knees I think my recored of consc. was around three. Then I intergrted my feet inside kicks mostly; no shoes. Then, my consc. went up to 4! Whoo hoo! Next came, shoes. My vans sucked but at the time they skyrocket my consc. to seven! Eventally, I thought it be cool if I learned some tricks. So, I typed in "hacky sack tricks" into Google and it sent me to flipsider. I was amazed at all the differnt tricks. I was, also, shocked to learn my beloved bag, was horriable! So, I went to footbag.com and almost bought one of there bags. I would have to, but I was really low on the cash. So, eventally, I got better. I even bought a bag from pac-sun and a skater shop named Zummies. At, this time my only trick was a ATW on my strongside; I compltely ingored my flipside. I couldn't even outside kick! Then I met trhis circle kicker named, Josh. He showed me how to do a legover (which was crap! It was just a ATW where you go over the bag than circle it.) So, for a long time I thought I was hot shit with my "legover". then finally I saw the light. Josh (he moved) showed me a crap trick. So, I got back to basics, delt with my flipside after reading Chan's two side posse (THANK YOU!) or something like that. I saved up enough for Lavers and a Sandmaster. and here I am back to the legover I thought I learned months ago! :D

I ALWAYS think that after a bad session! It just puts a good feeling on that bad session! It's so great you wrote down my thoughts Jeremy :)

@ Melissa
You will have your legovers down soon. My sister also had an hard time learning legovers, and now she can do like 7 in a row :)
Maybe you want to watch a video featuring Lon Smith http://www.monsterhack.com he has a great and effortless way to do legovers.

I had a session today, It was around 30-45 minutes long, which is pretty good for me. It was kind of scary, I was just doing my thing, you know. We live next to a pretty busy road, so I can hear all of the traffic. When, I was skooling butterflys, I heard this big brakeing sound follwed by what to appear to be a crash. So, I was like," I better go check that out". So, I walked up the road, and what do you know? There was a three car pile up. I am like "oh, shit!" Since, nobody around was calling 911 I ran back to my house and called. After, I got off the phone I went to the crash site and helped out. I comforted this kid, who is about my age. So, enough parmedics came and helped everybody out. I called the hosptial later and nobody was in mortal dandger, just a few broken bones. Thank god!

I don't really feel like talking about my session. So this is it!

Thanks!

Nothing new to say. I only had on tiny session this whole weekend because of yardwork I had to do! That sucked, but I have did a lot of thinking:

What if there was a footbag magizine? That would be cool! They could interview pros like: Vaske or sombody. They could put in reviews of bags and shoes. Also, they could have tips on how to do moves and stuff.

Is there a reverse hop over?

Yeah, thats pretty much it!
