Answer Me These Questions Three (Worlds Related)

Post by Jorden »

1. How much prize money do the Open Singles Freestylers get in Shred30/Routines if they win or place, and to what place do the prizes/money no longer get awarded?

I've searched footbag.org and the two main forums for 3 years (since I started playing) and I've yet to find an answer. Obviously the prizes or money isn't what Worlds is all about. It's more curiousity than anything.

2. How many players advance after the Prelims & Semis in Open and Intermediate Singles Freestyle? Or is the number solely based on the player's scores/skill level?

And finally...

3. There is a thread on Flipsider called "Worlds Requests" -- talking about the possibility of having Rippin Run and/or Sick Trick as demo events. Are these events going to happen? So far, neither are on the Worlds schedule. Ellis??

Thanks in advance.

I may have the answer to question number two, though I also may be wrong.
50% are eliminated in the premilinaries.
75% are eliminated in the semis.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, here goes...
1. How much prize money do the Open Singles Freestylers get in Shred30/Routines if they win or place, and to what place do the prizes/money no longer get awarded?
Top 3 spots in all/most open competitions get prize money. The amount is up to the budget. I'm not sure if I'm authorized to say how much we have this year, so I won't say at this time.
2. How many players advance after the Prelims & Semis in Open and Intermediate Singles Freestyle?
Open fs has 3 rounds. Round1: 5 pools, 6 from each pool advance to semis. Round2: 5 pools, 2 from each pool advance to finals. Inter fs has 2 rounds. Round1: 5 pools, 2 from each pool advance to finals. These numbers are not necessarily the same each year- it's up to each host how to run an event.

You didn't ask about Shred:30 but I'll tell you anyway. Intermediate and Women's Shred have only one round. Open Shred has 2 rounds, the top 10 from Round1 advance to Finals.
3... Rippin Run and/or Sick Trick as demo events. Are these events going to happen?
No. We are focusing on the core events this year- no sick this or phat that. Watch the circles if you want to see the best tricks, runs, and combos.

EVERYONE, GO CHECK THE WORLDS WEBSITE FOR IMPORTANT UPDATES (see NEWS)!!! http://www.footbag.org/worlds2004
