Just to expand on what Matt said. Never have the hat forward, or the bag will hit the visor and knock it down. Very annoying.

Beanies are the best, I think.

Also, Melissa, Gordon Bevier wears a baseball hat (forward) a lot, and he rips bags to pieces (not really).

No, that not what I meant; I wear a baseball cap (backwards). What I was trying to say, that if you wear it forwards, the bag hits the visor and throws it off course. Maybe that just happens to me, maybe I hit the bag werid.

I wear a hat when I shred sometimes, it doesn't get in my way. I usually throw into the mix if its I wear my hat.

I used to tie my hair back, but it would still get in the way especialy because my style is so duck/spin heavy. If you are a shuffler or jsut a casual kicker tieing it back should be no problem but if you like to duck or spin or are REALY serious aboot the game its gotta go!!! you can always grow it back when you're thiry and to buisy to freestyle.

Long hair blooooows. I usually pull it back and tuck it into the back of my shirt. But then it sucks when you get hot and have to take your shirt off 'cause my the hair never stays back. Arghhghgh!

what! long hair owns! just ask Nick Laroche and James McCullough. they just tie it back, as do i. i've never really seen it be that much of a problem for them... as far as i've seen i don't think it's really put a downer on they're spins and ducks...i guess if you have that inbetween length... not quite at the "pull-back-with-elastic" stage... then just use a head band. there are many alternatives other then getting scalped. Yves Kreil ties it back also.
i say you keep it long if that's how you like it and just try pushing or tieing it back.

Referring to the hat wearage.

How often is the bag directly in front of your forehead? If you are ducking at all it is stupid to but the rim in the back.

I am growing my hair as well... it's looking all scruffy but I dig it.

I'll use a head band when I have to, which should be a couple of months from now. Just dig that style you know?

Anyway, I would pass out from heat exhaustion if I wore a beenie, even a cap. Heat need to escape through the noggin, esp while shreddin.

It just get in the way for me, but I suck and somtimes my sets are to high or somthing. Also, I have a hat that the rim really close to my body when backwards. So, it doesn't get in into my way.
