Bad News

Post by Jeremy »

I'm very sorry but I will not be attending this years Worlds. It's easily the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but basically my step Dad is very sick with some serious heart problems. He's been in and out of intensive care a lot and has a long history of heart problems (including 2 heart attacks and a triple bypass).

There is no way I could have a good time with this going on, and if anything happened I would want to be here rather than 1000s of miles away.

I haven't been coping with this too well, and am now taking anti depressents which haven't worked at all so far but at least I feel like I'm getting control of things for once.

In regards to accomodation - those staying in the multi 8 need to work something out. Here is a list of those staying as far as I know.

Richard Pearce
Andrew Coleman
Andrew Grant
Mark Bull
Mike Admsky (sp)
Kevin Regamy
Jaun Rangell
Mike Strumpf
Peter Brocka
Seth Martin

Apologies if I missed someone off. Once you work out whats going on I suggest you let Yevez know and probably arrange to pay him on the first day (25th).

If I can be of any help - especially with emails let me know.

I'm so sorry about all this, I fucked up pretty badly - infact I've fucked up a lot of things recently but I'm sure everything will work out.

Best of luck to everyone. I really wish I wasn't in this situation - I've been looking forward to worlds for so long but I hope you understand why I've made my decision.

jeremy, i'm very sorry to hear about your step dad, and i hope everything works out well. you will now go to your next worlds with even more enthusiasm and power.

as for room organization, i e-mailed yves and am waiting to hear back from him. i don't know if jeremy made any sort of room assignment arrangements, but if anyone wants to specifically have a roommate on the list, pm me to let me know. otherwise i guess it will be first come first served. also, if you have any other concerns about the rooms, let me know by pm. i figure all of us in the multi-8 would appreciate it if people don't back out right now, and it looks like we have two open spots if people are interested.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Out of every new person I was going to meet, I was most looking forward to meeting you  . "Oh Scarecrow, I think I'll miss you most of all".

Well, you are doing the best and most honorable thing. Good luck and good health to your step-dad.

As you say down-under...Cheers (you do say that right? ).

Jeremy, I'm really sad to hear this. Over the last several months you have been so helpful in guiding me in learning certain tricks. I was really really excited to get to meet you. I remember I learned flailing and instead of being like "sweet!" you said "you could butterfly out of that", that kind of encouragement has always been really helpful.

I totally understand why you made your decision and I hope to get to meet you next year at world's.

take care man.

This thread hasn't been posted on in two days but...dang. I was looking forward to meeting you too. Even though I've been gone for a while, you'd be one of the 1st five people I'd name that post on Modified. I hope things go well for you and your father.
