Ok, does symposium mean you do not plant the setting leg after the bag is set?
And is paradox where the dex is performed with the setting leg. Also does it matter if you plant during the pdx add?
To help me clear things up.

yeah you're close on symposium. symposium means you jump off the dexing leg and do not plan the other one while you do a full dex. this doesn't work for half dex moves like leg over and pick up. when doing moves like this when you jump into the dex it's called sympl, but doesn't recieve any extra adds, but major style points.
paradox is quite tricky to learn... and explain. basically it's a full dex move set from same clipper. so the bag travels from one side of you body, to the other side on which the dex is performed. i don't know about the technicality about planting your leg on paradox moves. does it negate the paradox or not? i don't know. does it make it easier, i'd say yes. does it look good, i say no.
hope this helped. try checking out footbag.org for more info on paradox.
