Mac Media Players?

Yo.

My friend uses a Mac, which really only comes with Quicktime as it's best gig, but as we all know, Quicktime won't play .wmv's and related media files. I want him to watch more footbag videos, but most of them are .wmv's or some other format that won't play in Quicktime. He also said it was freezing up when trying to play Evan's new CSS5 video.

Anyway, to give you a glimpse of what I'm looking for... I'm thinking something like Zoom Player, or another media player that plays all of the video formats (.wmv, .avi, .mpeg, etc.), and will run on a Mac.

Help Appreciated.

He tells me he couldn't get it to work.

And MPlayer is pretty sucky, anyway.

Uhmm.. If it is OS X, then MPlayer should work fine. MPlayer is by far the best media player there is -- hands down.

I suspect we might be thinking of two different things.

edit: yes, I thought that was an abbreviation for windows media player or something. sorry.

I use a Mac and between QuickTime (with DivX) and Windows Media Player 9 , I've only come across a few vids with really obscure codecs that I can't play on my computer. However... If he's on Mac OS 9 he'll probably have a harder time of it.
