Pay your numerous federal taxes, or go to jail. Is that accurate?

I accept that you need taxes to pay for roads, but not that you need to build tollbooths.

To sPinko:

Maybe I misinterpret your post, but I disagree that tax money provides the basic frameworks of employment, education exchange and property security.

The government only provides employment at taxpayer expense. The economy provides the employment framework.

Education should be paid and managed entirely by the states themselves. No federal tax should have to paid for education. Those know-nothing bureaucrats in Washington should have no say about what goes on in schools. The Dept. of Education should cease to exist, it serves no purpose.

Property security is the responsibility of the landowner or resident. The threat of being arrested works to protect property in a lot of places. But police mostly just clean up your body after you've been murdered, and catch the crook later, yay.

National Security should be the MAIN task of Federal governement, but almost everyone here seems to think the military apparatus is OVER funded, and needs to be cut substantially, to raise funding on other feel-good programs.

I know National Security is sham.

Any one in the world can just walk right on in from one of our neighboring countries, carrying as many briefcase nukes as they want all-day, everyday.

There is a misunderstanding here.

If someone complains about illegals being leeches on the economy and society, are they complaining about about those hard-working, want-their-kids-to-be taught-English folks you speak of?

I don't think so, but I think you are trying to characterize them as such.

I think they are complaining about the 25% of inmates in federal prison.

They are complaining about the over-run border properties, with rampant smuggling, theft, and rape.

They are complaining about the horrendous environmental damage done by the invasion of humanity.

etc...etc...etc

Also you should be careful.
You could be branded a racist, bigot for trying to suggest that Hispanics learning English is a noble thing..... since there is a never-ending chorus of Hispanic interest groups who spew these labels when their bilingual programs are under attack.

So an illegal alien wanting their kid to be successful (by knowing English), is more American than GENERATIONS of rednecks welfare bums, who want their kid to be successful?

So just because many citiznes have taken America for granted , are they are less American?

That above statement is offensive for the same reason this statement is:

I'm bashing my own, not going outside my race to make a point. I grew up in the trailer parks of America and have seen what I speak. And it is only for the sake of argument here on this forum that I make that statement.

I also feel as you stated about overcrowded prisons, borders, etc... I still feel these issues are a problem. I also feel that my English speaking child should not have to bring home bilingual work to satisfy immigrants that happen to go there. I also do not like having to repeat myself at a fast food window to an immigrant only to have my order totally screwed up.

I find it interesting that the views I based my prejudice against immigrants on, was not founded in its entirety and that not all immigrants are clogging up the system, and some just want to help, as I would hope other Americans would want to help.

I will retract my statements if you or anyone else finds them to be abbrasive or offensive. I certainly wasn't trying to offend the large percentage of hard working Americans, only the lazy take for granted Americans who base their opinions on none sense rather than facts about their government (like the conspiracy theorists who make stuff up, yet thousands of rednecks take it as fact, like the gov. really has the money, they just keep it all locked away for golf outtings). These are the rednecks I speak of that leech off the system while claiming it's all the govt. fault they have to live that way. Yet won't go out and get a job because heaven forbid they make some money at McDonalds with their 8th grade education, and that they feel the job is beneath them.

O.K. I wasn't really terribly offended.
I guess it is accepted when someone denigrates their own racial group, except Bill Cosby , who is an Uncle Tom for pointing out the obvious.

You are probably right about some folks feeling "above" these jobs that Americans used to do for reasonable wages.

We just have different images when "illegal" alien is mentioned. At least we can use the word "illegal".
The thought police would prefer you use "undocumented immigrant"

Kerry advisor, Joe Wilson, former ambassador-

Exposed as a big fat liar about the Niger uranium documents. He claimed they were fake and had forgeries.

Turns out, his wife recommended him for the job, which he denyed earlier.

I wonder how many idiots bought the book all his BS was trying to promote.

Wilson is an example of foreign policy bumbling, incompetence that Kerry seems to be surrounding himself with.

Sandy (Burglar), Former NS Advisor and advisor to Kerry campaign-

Is he guilty? He deserves a trial to exonerate himelf if innocent.

Berger and his attorney already admits to stuffing documents in his pants on SEVERAL occasions.

That it was an "accident" is preposterous. Especially after they suspected him and planted a copy of a doc he stole already (the dumb ass stole that copy also). It sounds like he might have stolen up to 30-50 documents.

What was on those Millenium Attack and handwritten documents? What was so damaging that Burglar risks prison to take them?
Did Clinton tell him to steal them when he sent him to review the documents?
Where did they go? Did any of Bergers corporate or foreign clients get info?
Was John Kerry advised by Berger about things in the docs?

This could be bigger than Watergate. But it wont.

Berger will probably get what Saddam Hussein will get:

An aquittal, a Nobel Peace Prize ,and a mansion in Paris.

In the election, what should be endless ammunation to attack Kerry's National Security weakness and incompetance, in both personnel and policy, will be wasted by cowardly Republicans.

Not tax money, society. And tax money is just the oil that keeps the cogs of society going smoothly.

I don't have any experience with your department of education, but I am very happy that the government is involved in education in my country. I want everybody in school at least until they're about 15, and I certainly don't want them coming out at that age thinking the world is 6000 years old or any such nonsense.
I guess it is accepted when someone denigrates their own racial group, except Bill Cosby , who is an Uncle Tom for pointing out the obvious.

Teresa Heinz-Kerry:

excerpt of convention speech:

"(.....)Today, the better angels of our nature are just waiting to be summoned. We only require a leader who is willing to call on them, a leader willing to draw again on the mystic chords of our national memory and remind us of all that we, as a people, everyday leaders, can do; of all that we as a nation stand for and of all the immense possibility that still lies ahead.(.....)"

Mystic chords of our national memory.........

What a load of meaningless crap.

Mrs. Kerry is either a certified lunatic, or on some type of heavy medication.

The way she moves and they way she talks is scary.

Would a potential first-lady's medical/psychological records be fair game in an election?

Why wont her tax records be made public?

Why do people fear this shady, foreign millionaire?

At least Laura Bush projects dignity and keeps her mouth shut most of the time.

Do we really want a shrill, power obsessed woman in the White House again?

Hillary was like a co-president.... weren't we lucky?

You could ask Hilary Clinton that same question?

My wife is voting for John/John cause she bought into the hype that he might help the middle class. She is disgusted with Bush's invasion of Iraq and thinks that the only reason we are there is because Bush Sr. ran out of time and resources and what a better gift to him than to finish the job started 10+ years ago.

Now I love my wife and now I am forced to make a vicious desicion. Go against my wife and vote Bush, or agree and vote Kerry.

Doesn't that suck. I told her I simply wouldn't vote. She says that's not an option. So what do I do? What do I do?

On the one hand Bush's Capital Gains tax relief put over 100k in my pocket. On the other the "No child left behind" thing has left my 9 year old failing in school.

During the 9/11 crisis I was out of work for 7 months. The retro-unemployment insurance came in handy thanks to Bush. Yet I can't help but wonder if things would have been different if Bush had not been elected.

Then there is Senate and Congressional control factor. If Kerry gets elected and the Republicans still control both houses, then he is a waste of a president cause nothing will ever make it out of any of the houses without some republican spin that democrats don't want and Kerry won't sign. So that sucks. Yet if Bush makes it back in, who knows what ultra conservative laws will get passed and the FCC may go so far as to dumb down TV back to Sesame Street.

I know alot about the republican agenda, but no nothing about Kerry other than his voting record which is ultra liberal. Same with Edwards. I don't like that Dick Chaney has a conflict of interest with Halaburton, yet I need gas in my truck to get to work everyday.

Ultimately I think the best minds for the job aren't even in politics nor play those games, which makes them perfect for the job. But the American public in general looks at candidates in a materialistic light, looking for perfection in speech and good hair, over issues. So those perfect minds will never be in power until we learn to look past the surface of politics and baby kissing.

So I'm conflicted.

You have posed very poignant issues Flex.

I'll try to make a point or two in response.

Pick both of them on the ballot, then you wont be lying when you say you did vote.

I might have to hold my nose and vote Bush or vote neither.

That 100K is YOUR fucking money! Would anyone like to have their rightful 100K go to be redistributed by John Kerry, and other elite millionaires?

On the other hand, Your 9-year-old kid is failing because it is YOUR fault.
Spend some of that cash on a private school. Your kid's teacher doesn't have to teach your kid anything, he\she will keep their job anyway.

Politicians don't put their kids in public school. They know the folly and failure that the system is.
You can't assign ALL the blame of 30 years of educational decline to a Bush backed, Ted Kennedy authored education bill.

Republicans don't act like conservatives unless there is a (D) in the White House. They will rubber stamp every entitlement, liberal bill the President puts forth.

Who cares if T.V. is dumbed down. We will always be able to have all the violence, depraved sex, and obscenity we want on cable TV.

We tried private schools already. The cost was phenomenal and she didn't improve. Actually she is doing better at the high level public school we transfered her too, but we still incur daycare costs because the school is so far away. The curriculum is what is so demanding. The work she is doing now in 4th grade is sixth grade work. We know, we have a 12 year old as well. Our 9 year old was doing fraction multiplication in the 4th grade, while her sister was doing the same types of problems in the 7th.

We read the curriculum (a trifold brochure with size 8 text) for the year. It took me 20 minutes to read it all. I needed a dictionary for some of the course study on that thing. She is 9 not 15. Bush's agenda on this one - His heart in in the right place - I just think his method is a little skewed.

So I'm not totally placing blame on Bush, but rather the "No Child Left Behind" policy that Bush indorses. It only separates the gifted from the majority. Only the gifted students have the self resources to go the extra mile. Find a kid and check out his homework schedule and you will see what I mean. The exit exams are stupid too. If I am a mechanics son (no offense to mechanics) and I want to be like dear ole dad, I will not benefit from college level coursework. There is no standard in education, we all learn, mature, and experience life at differing levels. There is no need to force everyone to learn at the same rate. If we did, I would be a Harvard graduate with my own private practice.

I own cable, but the FCC keeps censoring my Howard Stern (radio) in the mornings. This just pisses me off.

I don't know what I'm gonna do, if I vote for Bush I cancel out her Kerry vote. If I vote for Kerry I'm a traitor to my roots. If I don't vote, I don't have a voice. Grrrrrr.....

Do a write-in if you so choose. I may be doing this; I don't support either party. And I haven't researched all of Nader's beliefs yet either.

Actually I've been considering just getting my college education, and moving to Europe or Prague.

We either need 1-2-3 voting, or the negative vote. I personally like the negative vote because it lets people vote against someone. Imagine I hate bush, but don't like kerry. With the negative vote, I don't have to vote FOR kerry, I get to vote AGAINST bush. Now the race is completely flipped on it's head, and the candidates have to persuade people that they ARE good, not just better than the other guy but still not worth voting for.

That is a dilemma. But I don't think you are not having a voice by not voting.

I have problems with Bush and have to make a decision based on my state's role in the election.

He probably doesn't need my vote. I would prefer that he lose my state, but win the election. Republicans will STILL probably not learn the folly of pandering, though.

If you don't vote for Bush because of your objections to him, fine.

If you don't vote for Kerry because of your objections to him, fine.

So vote for neither. You are telling Bush that you disapprove of him. And you are telling Kerry that you aren't fooled by all his crap.

You are informed and usually vote in local races, right? So just sit this race out. You live in the Peoples Republic of California? So Bush doesn't have a chance there.

If he does take California, maybe he deserves to win then.

When I was over 18, I voted in all the local races, but sat out the Clinton/Dole race. I couldn't stand Clinton, but Dole was un-electable and undesirable.

Vote for your Governor, Mayor, Senator, Representative, etc.

That still gives you a voice (even though they will all screw you anyway)

I normally throw my vote to someone on the ticket other than the two "choices". Shows I care enough to vote, but don't believe in either party.
