Yesterday I to registered on Ebaumsworld.com and posted one of my videos (Spaghetti Legs) on the forum. The site and the members are always looking for videos of rare talents and such. I'd never seen any shred vids on the forum, and I thought the hundreds of members might be interested in the sport.
So I tried to tell people that Footbag is the name of the sport, as kindly and as straight - forward as possible. Unfortunately, I received mixed responses.
I decided to respond in order to prove my point further -- I included examples and a picture. So I ask you -- did I do the right thing? Are there any improvements I could have made? Here's the link:

Heh, it's pretty funny seeing smartasses be shut down like that. They think they know it all until you prove them wrong. Even after proving them wrong, they still go at it. Some people will never learn.
hehe whenever I'm in a circle and some people are watching and some smartass is bragging to his friends, yeah I can do that shit, I usually ask them to step up (in a polite way) and have a go. Most of the time they shy away. OR they get pushed into the circle by their friends, make a complete fool of themselves, hand the bag back and go "yeah what you do is really hard. Impressive stuff, keep it up" or something.
No harsh words. But a lot of people don't understand quite how hard it is untill they try a toe stall and fail miserably!!
Good job man I tried to take the word of footbag to other non-realated forums to and was chastised for it. Props to you for handling the situation so well

I think you handled it well, in the way that you proved your point, but you also didn't really convert anyone into *liking* the term "footbag" either. Maybe a happy medium between the two would be better.

Certainly, that was the best handling I ever saw. After the guy has posted the crushing post and it was followed by 3 confirmations, I thought you were not going to take control over the place . Good job. This shows me that politeness really can take effect .
Every now and then when I play WA online I'll get some comments like "nice tricks!", "you're really good at hacky sack!", ect. I actually ended up referring a couple interested wormers to .org and flipsider.

hey slashc it looks like ur thread turned out pretty well! maybe because u didnt mention the words hacky sack or footbag in ur first post, and u didnt challenge them with a definition of footbag...
