How do you start each shred session? Maybe a couple inside kicks? Streching? Light freestyle drills to warm up? (alternating toe or clippers?)
On me...I vary. I usually start strechin' first, some kicks, and then some light freestyle. But sometimes I might kick a little first, stretch, and then light freestyle. How long do you warm up? 10 minutes? 15? I do maybe 10 (maybe 15) to get really warmed up. I noticed that if I don't warm up thoroughly, my legs tense up, I get tired quickly, and I don't have as much control.
So how do you warm up before you bust out those mad combos?
I have to warm up tons. First I do about 200 kicks, then just some stalls. Then mirages, legovers, butters, and osis. Then I stretch, then I shred. Even once I've done all that, it takes about 10 minutes of shred to really warm up and play my best.
So this is how I warm up for a shred at my house. Step one is to turn on my computer. Step two is I watch a couple of cool videos while I stretch for about 10 min. This gets me pumped to shred too. Step three I then I kick for about 12 min or so and just hit some simple strings. Once I feel nice and comfortable I shred. If I'm not at my house to watch a video I will usually skip the stretching and go straight to step three.
stretches, kicking, toe stalls, clippers, mirage/legover, dlo, eggbeater/atomshasher, pixie/atw, stretch some more, crack joints....drink lots of water >;]
stretch, kick, stretch, infinities, stretch, tiltless runs (only slow moves), stretch - move into whatever I want to work on - but starting the session with the easier stuff - like drifters and working my way up to harder stuff like superflys.
Stretch for about 15-25 mins. Then just light kicking. And toe stall consecutives and alternating. As I get better and go guiltless and stuff. Which wont be for awhile. I asume I will start warming up with tiltless runs and stuff. Warmup is usually 15 minutes or so.
