NEW SHOES

Post by LinksYs »

Ok this topic will be about the new shoes that you think are good for freestyling.
Tell about the shoes and give a picture.

PUMA Ragtop Cord

PUMA Original suede
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/1496213/c/18929.html

PUMA Frankenclyde (my favorite i have this there pretty good)
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/1496267/c/16135.html

the frankenclyde's also have better soles. and will last longer than lavers. They have a lot more ankle support and a lot more comfortable than lavers. The material underneath doesn't look that durable it could be i'm not to sure. I had them from awhile back before i new what footbag was and when i modified them they were worn down.

None of them look good. Suede sucks, you cant feel the bag at all. Plus the insteps dont look to good on them, you could make a shoe goo clipper rail if you wanted to. The last pair looked cool though.

first of all dont say something sucks if you have no experience kicking in it, feel isnt everything.

the main thing I dont like about the shoes is the rounded edges on the toe. Although several people do kick in frankenclydes or however its spelt.
There is always a bigger trick.

Go watch a vid. of Dylan Fry.

Kevin Regamey (qphox), used to kick in Frankenclydes (if I remember correctly), and he did pretty well in them. Don't know if he still uses them.

That said, Lavers of the CTxxx shoes will probably serve you better...

The Frankenclyde are pretty good. I wouldn't buy them over lavers but they have a bigger box toe and are a little heavier not by much but are still light. They have more ankle support and are comfortable.

I'am pretty sure he still does from the last time I talked to him. Maybe some people can get used to suede. I just dont like it myself.

Why would you want to "get used" to something when you could get something of better quality? If we were all "getting used" to playing with a rock instead of a beaded bag, wouldn't it have been a lot harder to link all of our moves? The sport wouldn't have advanced nearly as much if we all had decided to just "get used" to certain aspects of it. The sport's evolving. Wow I went off on a tangent, but it makes sense to an extent. I'm just saying, you might want to try some better shoes.

this is the topic about the new shoes you think are good for freestyling. I'm not saying that people should use them over lavers! b/c I myself use lavers over the pumas that i have. i'm just saying what type of shoes would we use as back ups.
did i say it was about fashion? and so what if they have a little more ankle support that a good thing! And why is it bad if the fronts are rounded.

And when i said, people can get used to anything they just don't want to.
i meant theres no reason to b/c why would we get used to something when i have lavers!

umm round... Round footbag... round foot bag meets round shoe... round foot bag rolls off round shoe...
there are many back ups all ready that ppl seem to be useing an they all look alot better then those shoes.

k-double is correct... they are very costly them pummas are cheaper at my local mall then on that web site.

Im not gonna even read this post again, this is sad.

More ankle support may also mean that it can restrict the amount of bend your foot is able to do when trying clipper stalls, making that move a bit more difficult. And, yeah, round toes make toe stalls a bit harder.

Personaly, I would like to see a shoe with better shock absorbtion without having to buy separate insoles AND a sole that can handle shredding on concrete without being worn down so easily.

The older lavers sole lasted longer but they were also stiffer and heavier. After a while I started getting shin splints and minor knee pains. The newer lavers have a softer sole but wear out quicker. Is it even possible to have a softer sole and have more durability at the same time?

I was going to say that. I think something you want to avoid while searching for a footbag shoe is ankle support. Ankle support means that your ankle wont be able to flex as freely as it should in a proper footbag shoe.

alright this isn't very "new" but i think adidas nastases should be mentioned here. i think they look a lot like lavers. the fabric could be a little different (i don't know anything about it) but as a footbag amateur living in Turkey these are the best i can find here. and also the shoes have leather stripes on the sides.

This is just my thoughts....

Ah, yet another fight, and, yes with the two same people. I just gotta say this.

Linksy, Zachtree, and everybody. All ya stupid fights are getting annoying. So, like my mother said, " Don't say anything if it's not nice." Or in this case helpfully or menaingful. So, just shut up and stop all the flaming. It's just pointless and a waste of time!

Now back tothe topic:

I don't think anybody can say they are good or that they suck unless someone has played in them. They could be the worst shoes ever for freestyle or the can be better than Lavers (Highly doubt it).

So, have anyone tired these shoes?
I think I going to take over Canada. You should help.

::edit:: i had the Frankenclyde's when i was a circle kicker getting into freestyle, so u could say they were my first footbag shoes, they were ok, but now i wouldnt even consider them as footbag shoes, like it was already mentioned the toe is to rounded out, but the shoes are very comfortable, so buy them as everyday shoes not shred shoes

Jesse used frankenclydes for ages. As did a couple of other people I know. They're a good introductory shoe IMO. Not as good as Lavers (obviously), but still worth it, unless you KNOW you're a die-hard freestyler.
Comment in the BCS blog if you feel the need to.
