So that's all the love I get for this piece?? I guess it's true that most of you don't care for aesthetics and just want to dork out over what Vasek is hitting. :? Hooray scene.

Downloading it now ..

It was really cool from what I remember of it at finals night. I was actually going to ask around to see if it could somehow be released in computer format.

Nice work Eli.

Kind of joking and kind of not. I like the look of the G-units on you. Your flow in that video was just aesthetically pleasing to me.

I like your videos, too. You're one of the only filmakers I've known to make a good footbag video. A lot of videos have good shred, but the videos are terrible. Are you a film student or summat?

come on, eli, you know that video was a hit. it looked great at worlds, lots of personality, lots of cool, good editing. But it's more of a performance / exhibition introduction than a shred video.

and as for freestylers caring more (excuse me, "dorking out more") about freestylers than editing... well... duh. I FAR prefer practically raw footage with some music thrown over (or not) than something with a lot of time put into editing. Editing is just not what I'm focused on when I'm watching a shred vid, and in some cases, too much editing causes the video to come out a year after the footage was taken because the whole thing was such a project. Take a look at Balance of Power. Erik Chan put out a LOT of the exact same freestyle from CSS4 on the internet within days of the event, but chad's video didn't feature it until... when? almost a year later? and for what? that weird break where some goblin guy stabs chad? come on.

in the case of this video, it's fun to look at, it was a good presentation, and it had a lot of energy to start the finals show. But when editing has the focus over footbag, it's not going to have the same effect on freestylers.

don't get me wrong, Eli. Your editing skills are elite, and you've got great style. Just sharing some thoughts on where my values lie.

I don't mean fancy schmancy editing skills or anything, just basic filming technique. His framing isn't sloppy, his horizons aren't crooked, he frequently uses interesting backgrounds, and shoots from interesting perspectives. He also seems to meter accurately, as his colors are sharp and vibrant, compaired to the underexposed, grainy, muddy colors I see in some footage.

He also knows how to focus, which seems to be something a lot of people (not just footbag players) can't seem to grasp.

I also like his barrages.

barroque > paradox barrage?!?! WOW! ducking paradox mirage?! stopping midrun to give out a flyer?!

i really liked the scene where all 4 of you faded in hacking then disappeared before it was too much.. perfect

i personally dont like using music from other movies.. but i still liked it a lot and give it an A+

Ellis, seriously... you already had quite a number of responses... you've really done a lot for the sport, and most, if not all, of us respect you. Just had to get that off my chest... people displaying disappointment in the amount of props they get for a video are starting to disappoint ME. But that's just my personal opinion. I don't want to piss you off. This is for everyone.

But anyways, this video was definitely awesome. I've ALWAYS loved Ellis' videos the best, both computer-downloaded and "store"-bought! I love the editing. I don't think anything has been overedited yet, and I think that there is still more focus on freestyle ability than editing. It's really a treat to watch a well-produced video. If someone posts a crappy-ass video, it better have awesome shred, in my opinion. But if someone like Ellis posts a video with great shred AND it looks good, then that's a video to bring home to mom. And I mean that in both a literal and metaphorical way... you can usually rest assured that an Ellis vid will appeal to the public, because it slows down shred enough to pop in things, and the public can appreciate that. I can appreciate that. I have a hard time watching raw shred unless it's superb (related to its time, of course... for example, I still love Sultans of Shred). That's just my opinion.

But anyways Ellis, props, and thanks.
