Just bought Twisted Footbag

Hey my friends birthday was a while ago. and i didnt get him a present...

so i bought him a twisted off of ebay for 17 bucks.

Have you had any experience with twisted and how was it?

Twisted, made by Hacky Sack Brand/Wham-o?

These footbags were given out to all players at Worlds as part of the players pack, and they really feel kind of brutal. They are way too light, and roll way too easily.

I don't know if it will change much once they break in, but they don't seem to have too much promise.

I think they've changed how they made them though, because my friend used to have a Twisted that was made of a different material, was heavier, and actually wasn't half bad.

Cole, you are mistaken.

The ones we got were made by Wham-O indeed, but they were not Twisted footbags.

Twisted are made by the same dudes that make Kanga's and whatnot. I'm sure it will be fine. A FOOTBAG IS A FUCKING FOOTBAG, be greatful to have one at all!

yea the one i bought is the kanga brand. it is facile and it has a nice filler

The original twisteds (before it sold out) were by Kick in the Grass and made by Bart (if you're a newbie, this name wont ring a bell, but he's a footbag legend of sorts and a good name to know). Anyway, my first real footbag was a twisted (1992) and it was sweet as can be. It was when people were mostly kicking with flying clipper Juice's or Bart's twisteds and I preferred twisteds with my arthur ashe LeCoq Sportiff shoes. takin' you waaaaaaaay back, eh? I don't know what they're like now that Whamo, Mattel or Kanga is making them, but i'm sure the quality would have gone down from what it once was. I think it's one ofthe coolest looking designs ever regardless of performance. the snake pattern i make with a 32 is inspired by the twisted design.

Word to the Twisted!

Bart's Twisted bags were my first bags of choice too, and I believe they bear some responsibility for the development of my style of shred. They were large and floppy and were ideal for stalling on difficult surfaces (like dragons and flappers) because they would plop down and stay there.

The guys who are now responsible for bringing back the Twisted are real footbag players themselves (Chard Cook and ? of the Canadian Footbag Alliance), and their Twisteds are very true to the original (ever notice how the best footbags come from great footbag players? I wonder why that is?). That is to say, they play fairly well, and as Juana said, they are great to look at as you kick them. However, by today's standards they have some small flaws. They are too large, and they are not perfectly round (they are kind of pyramid-shaped because of the unique shape of the panels). I have never found the odd shape to be a problem, but I do think they would be better if they were smaller. I've been meaning to write a little letter to Chard to tell him. Bags used to be bigger, but freestyle has evolved (just a little) since then, and the standard size of bags is smaller for the sake of the smaller windows of multi-dex tricks.

Anyway, I've had a couple of them for the past two years, one Facile and one of a very high-quality ultrasuede, and they have both proven to be very durable, very cool looking, and pretty shreddable.
