cutting down

Post by LinksYs »

well i guess when you get a pm like this then you really need to cut down.

hey dude, I'm really not trying to make fun of you, or insult you in any way possible but.... you really gotta stop making spam posts. what I mean is, I see alot of one line posts that sometimes don't even need to be in a thread, made by you. I just read the one thread 'abshire colors online' or w/e and you posted something like "what colors are you getting?" as a post, then right after that, you said your opinion on the colors. Asking what colors he's getting really shouldn't be a post. It's ok to give advice, but try to keep it all to 1 or 2 posts. I'm only telling you this because I was talking to a few of the other members (not saying names) that have been on the forum for a while and they're saying stuff about you and your posts and how they are "useless posts". Sorry I had to tell you this, I really am, but you gotta think from mine and everyone else's point of view. I love modified, it's a really cool forum and I want it to stay the way it is. (By the way, I used to spam alot, it's a newbie thing, but I just wanna let you know before it gets out of hand)

Dont't take this personal or anything.

Keep Kickin'

if you all see this is a problem than i will

My only thing is that a lot of the posts are unnecessary. If you were posting that much and adding more to the discussion than "I'm gonna go check my mail" (not a direct quote) than it would be alright.

Here's a list of the most recent posts you've made: http://www.modified.ca/footbag/search.p ... or=LinksYs

Why don't you be the judge of yourself?

I didn't even notice it. I'm used to being on forums where people whore with posts, and I try not to do it. I don't even really care, though.

sorry bro, but ill have to agree. 75% of the stuff you post is just trash. your not adding to the community with helpful knowledge, your just adding stuff that i really dont bother to read anymore. before you post think "will this help someone? am i being informative? is this neccessary?". if all these answer yes, it probably isnt spam. just think before you post, and instead of spending all your time on this forum why dont you actually play footbag?

peace.

*nods in agreement with Dave*

16 hours a day =/ you could be practicing like 1 of those hours per day and get a lot better.

Personally I don't really have any problems. When you say such small and specific comments that don't relate to me - I can skip over them without much thought. The 2 seconds that that takes per message isn't a big issue for me. I think often new people to forums (in general) tend to post a lot. Certainly some of the most respected people on this forum are guilty of sometimes posting similar kinds of messages.

Obviously it's important to get on with people here or you won't have much fun - so if other people think it's an issue I'm sure it's a good idea to take their criticism on board - even if you don't follow it to much - just be mindful of it.

The other thing I want to mention is that I have got in a bit of trouble in the past for posting things I shouldn't be posting. I don't need to go into the details but basically I think that when you post something that you haven't created and that isn't open to the public it's a very good idea to make sure that it's ok with them first. I know you left off the name from your PM but I don't think posting it was a good idea. If you had have just mentioned that you got a pm from someone saying that they thought you posted too much rubbish it would have been much better. I send a lot of PMs and some of them say things that I don't want other people reading. I would hope that the people I'm sending them to would respect the privacy of a "private message" and if they didn't I would lose trust of those people and stop sending them messages.

don't worry about what other peopel think of your posting. post what you want, when you want. only 1 rule though: keep it related to the topic. that should really be the only thing you need to worry about.

i pay attention to everything that everybody says on this forum so when people tell me that this is a problem i listen. There are about 800 sumin members so if one person has a problem with me than theres bound to be plenty more of poeple that agree. i don't want any enemies or anything like that i just want to have fun and if other people aren't haveing fun i don't want to be the cause of it.

i'm going to bed. it's 4:59 a.m.
good night to who is on now
peace

thank you for that. that makes me feel good but i'd like to have nobody be agravated by my posting. I will still end up posting a lot but I have to actually type what i am trying to get at. Also having one line in a post isn't a bad thing you can still get your idea across, I no a lot of you think this. and if it really bothers you i can do this:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>.................#$%RFH**&^%$$%^&*((*&^%$%^&*()
and then type and see now i have two lines
