I think what most people want is for just the other members (not just you, people on Modified in general) to not post for the sake of posting, but to post because you have something to add to what is being talked about.

I always assumed it was good manner that when you join a forum to just
listen and watch for a while before you start posting. Check the forum out,
check out how people interact with each other, and use the search
function to look for stuff you want to know - most of the time
there's no need for starting just another post about a thread that's
probably there already. OK, since the mass deletion a lot of that has
vanished, but still. Try to get used to the forum's habits, instead of
starting topics like America starts wars...

newbies in general.
