furious set

Post by Senor Grommet »

Well, I started kooling flip furious set. Its been two days. Ive hit flip janiwalker 11 times now in just less than 2 hrs of practicing the set.

I think this set, while seemingly very hard to learn, is really nothing more than training your leg to move in a new pattern. It is a reality for all those who wish to learn it.

I think more people should try to learn this set and exploit it. If you work hard and just practice it a hell of a lot in a short amount of time, im sure you will hit it. So, for all those shredders whose game is ready for it, go try!!!

i took me some time figuring out that it had very little to do with a clip set barrage... well that's my take on it anyway. For some reason I can furious set more consistently on my flipside than I can step on that flipside ...

yeh i see what u mean jeremy, ive just started hitting Flurry a bit (got it on video tonite, am thinking it could be a little thin :? ) and the set for this move is kind of clipper set barrage... but then when i try to get any kind of uptime set using barrage, its quite different.. ie. i cant do it lol
seems to be more to do with stepping quantum rather than whirling stepping like the set for flurry... brad nelson says he thinks of it as pogo quantum..

this is my favourite set... im not sure how capable i am of it but i noticed that to get flurry, all i really did was have a good barrage, and just keep repeating flurry attempts over and over... it got faster and faster till i hit it... and i think its a good start for learning furious

Thanks for bringing this up Jeremy. I got inspired and started skoolin furious sets today.
Felix was with on the session and gave some advices.

So, I footed Janiwalker with both sides after trying furious sets for less that 10 minutes. I hit it with strong side after 5 minutes from footing it first time.
After about 30 minutes from starting skooling furious set I had footed Janiwalker with both sides more than 10 times each and got it 2 times with strong side.
After 45 of total trying of furious set I busted janiwalker with flipside and once more with strong side. We got on tape one strong sides Janiwalker.

So. Been skooling Furious set for one day now and got Janiwalker three times with strong side and one time with flipside. And according to those three eyewitnesses I had, my set is clean.

EDIT: Oh, just one more thing: You all should start skooling furious sets, it's not that hard after all.

I've heard somewhere that practicing quantum sets and symposium whirls (from clipper) help barraging...

Personally, when i tried barraging, i found my strong quantum leg came out on top...almost had both dexes...My almost nonexistant quantum leg, BLUEPEOEOB, first dex really low, second, non existant.

I just can't comprehend the motion for a furious set. I always tend to do a really fast barrage, but it never turns out well.

What does the set feel to you? Whirling stepping? Stepping Quantum? Pogo Quantum?
