Where do you shred in summer?

Post by Fu Xi »

this summer i am going guiltless and i find that shredding is tough in the summer. Outside, its extremely hot and muggy so breathing is hard. Inside its also hard to breathe even with the central air on because its so small (my theory). Not to mention no space to move. When its cooler outside, the bugs fly in my hair and eyes and i cant see  .

So... where do u shred in the hot summer?

By the beach on weekends..
Than I just jump right, on in..
The Ocean..

I know that didn't help you out..
But, that's what I do..

When I lived in PA, For the cold winters..
I just went around from gym to gym..
And they all gave me one day passes to
try um' out.... That may help for the summers
too...

Just make sure you switch up the gym's unless
You wanna buy a membership..

The key to shredding the summer I think is shredding at night, and other times of the day when it's cooler (late afternoon, morning maybe).

As for the bug problem at night, Maybe get some bugspray or go somewhere where there are less bugs?

I school a lot in my basement nowadays. It's really cool down there, and there is tons of space. I don't really like playing inside though, so when I do play outside, it's in the shade or later in the evening (usually).

I typically shred in the evening. The bugs don't seem to bother me.

I live pretty close to San Fransisco and it's great because there's no humidity... But I usualy footbag in my house if I get to hot, or do it later in the evening, there arn't many bugs around here though... today I was footbagging downtown because there are really big sidewalks and that was pretty fun, because there was tons of shade and overhangs...

I try to shred after 2:00 pm here. I am about an hour from toronto and the air here is even a tiny bit smogy. I can tell a difference between the air here and the air in BC. I miss victoria for its great weather and great air.

I play in my basement, with a oscilating fan on HIGH, and it still gets hot as balls in about 10 mins. Its alright. Low cealings suck though...

I'll play in my shredroom:

or somewhere deep in the shade. If the temperature is anywhere from 23 degrees centrigrade or greater I can only play for like 20 minutes before i'm drenched though :( .

Night shreds are the go.

Find a good undercover carpark where the lighting is good, but the trafic is quiet. You'll usually find powerpoints there, too, so you can plug in a CD player or whatever.
Comment in the BCS blog if you feel the need to.

yea, u all are lucky. my basement has no head room whatsoever and there aren't any gyms around this area that i know of. and for the car park, i want to shred everyday and but that means i would have to get a ride everyday :?

I just cleaned out my shredroom/basement yesterday, it took me about 4 hours. But I went from shredding on a 6' x 6' floorspace to a 9' x 13' floorspace. So it's safe to say that I have enough space for me to shred, even if I'm shredding with someone else.

The only problem is that I hit my arms on the ceiling when I'm trying Atomic Inspinning stuff.

I live right next to a pretty big lake, and we have a beach area downtown. There are these walkways that kinda go different places in the park, and at the top of a small hill, right next to the water, is a round concrete pad, with a square metal plug in the middle (old flagpole i think). Its a perfect spot to kick (being circle and all) but it gets way too hot. Usually we kick there because its easy to be seen from blocks away, and we're surrounded by at least 10-15 girls in bikini's, so that always helps.

Just kick in the sun, and bring a lot of water. We would go to the shady spot, but theres a manhole sewer deal next to where the shady spots are, and it smells real bad, so we usually go to the circle. I just hate it when im the only one who brings water. You can see the area in a video I made (shameless plug sorry =). http://www.footbag.org/gallery/showset/449

In the summer I shred in white new balance, in the winter I use the brown ones.

I shred at mosswood park across from my home.
