Nice session in Madison

Post by HG »

Hey, Henry here.

Me, Mike H., ted, mike from LA, V, and steve all had a pretty fun session at the library mall today.

Highlights for me included hitting double legover, and i had some nice long runs consisting of mirages, legovers, atw, butterfly, pdx mirage

i tried to hit pdx drifter and a torque, but neither came. once or twice i came close.

Steve is at about my level, but ive played a little longer than him. V was a little better than me, but then Both mikes and ted were insane. It was nice to see people in person who are so much better than i am. it drove me to try new things. and the tips they gave me will help me greatly.

Anyone who was there today, post how you felt about the session, and anyone else please feel free to comment

PS: Ted was gonna make up a move called the Rod Laver. so i stole the name for my own move. You kick it, catch the bag in your shoe, than throw your shoe at someone. If ted hit blurriest bsos i was gonna rod laver some couple sitting on a bench.

lol good times

Edit: Steve took some video! Steve post it!

Pics from the meet: (sorry only 3, and they're not really action shots)

Oh, none of the videos were of any good runs. I only got a couple very short ones of pretty basic moves, not representative of the good stuff.

I am certainly NOT at your level!! Maybe a few hundred hours practice from it, but I can't even do a proper leg-over, so you were very generous with your description of my skill level. :P I was quite impressed by your strings. Your ATWs are so much smoother than mine. (and you hit them every time, I can manage only 1 out of 5-7 or so right now.) :\

As a direct result of this get-together, I have done a couple of things. I made a new bag (yes, already!) A 4-panel crushed panne with ALL lead sinkers... It weighs about 45 grams: More than twice the weight of my previous bags, and it's TINY (1 3/4 inch)! I also cut out all the foam in my nikes, and re-laced them to make an enormous toe-cup on the front... Here's a picture. :D

I had a great time, learned a lot, and met lots of new friends! Now I have to practice... LOTS! I wouldn't want to embarass myself again at another shred. :P
