Sam Potter -> NYC

Post by sampotter »

Hey, I'll be in NYC between (pretty sure) August 27th and September 3rd. If anyone is kicking in NYC between those dates, post here and we'll go from there.

Thanks,

Sam,

We typically play on Saturday or Sunday afternoons in Manhattan, either Union Square or Central Park. I've been a bit out of it lately, but PM me and I'll get you the low-down on the NYFA. You can also tap into the scene directly by joining the NYFootbag yahoo group (groups.yahoo.com/group/nyfootbag/ , or something like that).

Okay Sam, here's the deal,

The New York Footbag Association will be kicking it in Union Square on Saturday at 1:00 pm. This is our usual time and place, though we have several usual times and places that we rotate between.

Sadly, I have family obligations and probably cannot come myself. None-the-less, you should find Bruce Dole, Stan Sagalovski, and several others there, possibly including Drew Martin, Alex Strassman, Alex Sagalovski, Kathy Sor, etc.

Union Square is found along 14th Street between 5th Ave and 4th Ave. Its a cool spot, right in a busy area of lower Midtown. I usually take the A-C-E subway line from Penn Station two stops down, get out at 14/15th street, and walk three avenues over. Any taxi will know how to find Union Square, and we play at the south end of it (along 14th, as opposed to along 16th street, which is north).

Keep in mind that the Republican National Convention is in town that week, and the city is going to be a little crazy because of all that activity. Good luck.
