AKI Video from Freestyle Finals at Worlds 2004
Haha, good one.
Thanks for everyone's feedback.
Gimme a break. I wasn't fishing for an ego boost; I just wanted a *little* response on the video that jazzed up the show Saturday night. The crowd gave a great response at the event itself- which is the only response I was really concerned with- so I figured those who couldn't make it to Worlds would like to see it, too. Honestly I was just surprised, since most videos posted on this forum get substantial replies- even for legovers.
Thanks again. I'm re-editing it to use for our press kit. Hopefully this will get us some good gigs and publicity.

You mean the two replies that had nothing to do with the video?bigdirtyfoot wrote:Ellis, seriously... you already had quite a number of responses...

Hey Eli
I often forget to comment on videos posted because I will start a download and leave the computer. I loved this video. VERY classy. Your editing skills are definately up there with the Unanim crew and I've enjoyed your videos longer than I knew there was a european scene. Props for that alone. I love every video you post, even basic editing in the short Vasek Worlds teaser you posted. Thanks for all the videos you put so much time into to share with us. We really do appreciate it! Honest! Don't be discouraged by a single silly post on the internet. I loved the song and the player intros. The highlight for me is definately Yax dancing at the end. I would, too, obviously rather see Vasek bust 6 janiwalkers in a row than watch him hit the "same old same old" runs with crazy editing and a fisheye lens. If nobody else does, though, I appreciate editing and can't stand a video if it is not well edited. I don't mean to pick on Balance of Power after Matt's post but I got Balance of Power and Buda's Best in the mail the same day. I watched Buda's Best first. I was soooo disappointed with the intermediate-level year-old shred for the first 45 minutes??? But the editing was simply amazing and inspired me for my own videos. I watched Balance of Power after and as amazing as the shred in the video was (FLASH!!) I honestly had to turn the video off after, like, 5 minutes because I didn't like the editing. The point is that editing makes all the difference for me and I loved your video. I watch it everytime I watch videos on my computer even though there isn't really any shred in it. (Oh yeah I also like when Sebastien hands out the flyer -- was that rehearsed?
)
Peace,

Well, it was just that the video was posted at 1:02 PM on this board, and you replied at 11:39 AM the next day... that's not even 24 hours (on this board - I was talking about the replies you had on the footbag.org board, which may or may not have been posted before your reply here, so I'll take my foot out of my mouth). Most people aren't on the boards 24/7. It's only us elite few.
But now you've got your replies so it should be cool...
Anyways, I had watched it again last night. Hoorah for Kill Bill.

If you'll notice our portland shred video got a grand total of 2 replies from people not involved in the vid, and we perform much more than legovers. Its all about what kinda mood people are in and how they think this compairs to what they they have seen in the past.Flipsider wrote: Honestly I was just surprised, since most videos posted on this forum get substantial replies- even for legovers.

Though it wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone went and added a coment on that post. In fact thad make James and I real happy, and Red and Noah check too even if they don't post.

Hey now, buddy you need to simma, if you're really serious, I mean what would you like us to do, there's only so much emotion one can express in a computer forum post, I myself thought the vid was killer, nice barrouque and stepn duckin whirl.Flipsider wrote:So that's all the love I get for this piece?? I guess it's true that most of you don't care for aesthetics and just want to dork out over what Vasek is hitting.Hooray scene.
And what's that about? Just being funny, or are you trying to say something?Stephen Barnes wrote:Eli looks so cool in that video. I am going to dress JUST like him now.

I have to agree with Chan on this one. I like Ellis' videos a lot because you can see that he puts some work into filming what it is he films. I'm not talking about crazy effects or transitions, but more about picture quality, camera stability, color crispness, well framed shots and the like.
I've seen too many shred vids where some random guy just walks in front of the camera.. or the shot goes out of focus, or the player moves to the side of the frame and the camera man adjusts 5 seconds later with a jerky movement. I've seen Pierrot and Fred edit their vids and if the shot isn't perfect, it just doesn't make it to the video. Simple as that.
Anyway, all this to say: well done Ellis no matter what shred is actually being filmed, your videos are a pleasure to watch.
