Doubles
Doubles
Hey guys, I'm putting this question in the advanced section because you guys have more experience with this kind of stuff!
Anyway, me and my friends are trying doubles stuff and we were wondering if you guys had any tips or suggestions (maybe you guys could give us some ideas on what to work on or some other cool stuff)! We saw the doubles stuff at footbag.org and we thought it was pretty cool. So any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I don't know what level you guys are at, but find as much doubles videos you can, and watch them together. Just soak it all in and fool around with the different doubles concepts that you see. Of course a lot of those things are quite advanced, so you can always try what they do without all the dexes.
More C4 please <3

Hey Crafty,
As Posi-Cole mentionned, I play a LOT of doubles freestyle (I do some at about 50% of my shreds). All you really need to know to get started is how to do a toe stall. The basic movements for team freestyle are as follows:
- player 1 puts bag on toe
- player 2 lifts leg OVER P1's foot
- P1 sets bag (thus behind P2's lifted leg)
- P2 does a toe stall with the leg that was up
- P1 lifts leg OVER P2's foot
- P2 sets bag (behing P1's lifted leg)
- P1 toe stalls with the leg that he's lifted (now you're back to step one)
etc...
I don't know if that's very clear. There are not many doubles freestyle videos on the net, but here's one I have on my .org gallery (it's got singles too):

what I explained above (the alternating toe stalls) you'll see that we do quite a lot of those in the video.
PM me if you need any more detailed explanations.

Krafty: the alternating toe stalls are the very basics of doubles. Like in single freestyle they take time to become smooth and effortless. As usual practice makes perfect. Oh, it helps to play with the same person, that way you each get used to each other's rhythm. Once you can do ten or so of these toe stalls you can move on to LOTS of other more complex moves.
Good luck!!

I don't know if you've seen it, but you might want to check out the video 'Skate like a Girl' that Jane posted.

It has some footage of Jane Zerbe and Kimi Bartman (I think) doing some beginners doubles stuff.
