I get lower back pains sometimes after playing hard for a few hours. It could be because I land on my heels sometimes. I guess that will go away once I improve.

What marc said about landing on your heels can be true, your back will take more shock, also when you're learning, if you hunch over to much, you are using bad form and will be involving your back much more than needed. Try to keep upright with good posture and attempt at keeping smooth motions on your toes.

jonh did u ever get back pains when u first started learning the basics?
Coz i agree with u when u hunch a lot when kicking, u tend to be using ur back muscles a lot. Im still doing the basics and havent gotten my perfect posture yet.

Zach,
Check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ce&s=books

If you incorporate the excercises as part of your shredding routine you'll notice an improvement really soon.

For the lower back, try the squat position (like you were taking a shit in the forrest). Make sure your heels stay on the ground, feet facing forward. Just relax in that position for about a minute. You should feel the lower back decompressing as it pulls down to the ground. I use this excercise a lot because my back gets sore from sitting behind a pc all day. Give it a try between 3-5 times a day and you should feel an improvement.

Don't only do this when you have pain because that's usually too late. Regular squatting will improve your back but it's like cleaning a house. It's never really done so constant attention is required.
