Well, this is my blog!

So glad you could come, I think i'll open with a joke.

Why do skeletons go out at night?
To look for skin! ahahahha

Ok, enough of that. After returning from worlds, I want to get way better. I've already improved considerably since then. I meant to start this damn thing pretty much as soon as I got home, but things keep getting in my way.

I guess I'll start with my list of sealed moves, that I have now, so I can start adding to them, lol, hopefully sooner then later.

Well, new post, since I got back from worlds I've also hit double legover, twice, out of like 50 tries. I'm gong to leave that alone for a while though and go back to my basics. I've been trying to hit a 20 contact tiltless string, and I got to 16 the other day, woo, and I'm off for a session with my buddy Brad, who is about at the same skill level as me in about an hour. Hopefully I'll bust that string today.

Well damn. I thought I could edit that first post and keep adding stuff to it, oh well. Good session yesterday. Didn't beat my 16 contact tiltless, I came close though. And I hit legover>mirage>legover>mirage drill 3 times consectutively. Also hit double legover again. I gotta hit it left side now, don't want to get stuck with another one sided move. Oh, and I also got a spinning clipper, kinda gross looking, but it happened.
I also hit for the first time (just cause I never tried them before) Symp Mirage, Bubba & far pickup.
Brad hit swirl, forward AND reverse, one side, and forward on the other. Man I was like wow.

Oh No. I've injured my ankle. I was shredding with Brad yesterday, and we were trying to see who could get to 10 consecutive clippers, (side to side) first, we both hit seven, then gave up and did other stuff, then went home. I then went to a bar-b-q where I ate some tasties, and then played a bit in the driveway.
It looked pretty clean, but I must have found the only rock on the damn thing cause I hit a left side mirage, and as I came down on my right foot, it slipped, and then I was standing on the side of my foot, then I was lying o the ground, in some pretty bad pain. Something snapped, and everyone thought it was my cell phone hitting the ground, but my cell was still in my hand so I was worried it was broken.
After lying on the ground for a bit, I hopped into the house, and Christains hot physiotherapist sister treated my injury

, after a while I was able to walk on it without too much pain, so I went home and went to sleep. I woke up at 6:30 with bad pain, and when I tried to put some weight on it, I fell down.
So I went to the hospital, and it's not broken, but I tore some ligaments, and I have to stay off it for at least a week they say. They put a wrap on it and gave me a nice shot. I guess I'm going to have more time to work on my stitching.

Oh, and I also tore up the side of my nice black lavers, arg

Oh GOD tearing ligaments is the WORST... I tore my ACL last year and was out for 9 months. My advice is ICE ICE ICE STRETCH STRETCH STRETCH. Sorry to hear that happened.

Heh, playing on a gravel driveway for 2 years must've been a hinderance to my progression or something, haha... I fall a lot.

Holy shit! I don't know what an ACL is but ->9<- months!

Thats so shitty.
And my crazy doctor told me to "move it but not stretch it", hah, he's like 900 years old, and couldn't even understand that I didn't injure myself playing soccer. I wanted to hide form him. He kept coming back to questions about it.
How long have you played soccer?
Were you on the highschool team (soccer is the biggest highschool team in this town)?
And my fav ->
Does it hurt when you hit the ball away with your head when it's flying at you very fast?
I even showed him my bag!

I'm going to pick up some of those ICE packs you pop like lightsticks, the flexible ones, and wear them alot, AND stetch it. I don't want to lose my clipper flexability.

I have no idea why I capatalized ice, I looked back and it just was.

Well foots feels better today. I've ventured putting my full weight on it, and it was alright, but I haven't tried walking with it yet, I'll wait a few more days for that. As far as stretching goes, if I try and cock my ankle into a clipper position, I can barely move it a few degrees without feeling pain and tightness,

On the good news side, I picked up more nice colors for stitching at the local fabric shop. All they have is regular ultrasuede, but I don't want to pay the more then double price for the light stuff until I'm consistently making decent bags.

Sidequest -> My cousin used to work at this particular fabric store and she hated the manager, to the extent that she told her off when she quit. I had never met her before. The first time I went in there, she was working, and I was asking a couple questions about thread and fabric and stuff. She was kinda rude, like she didn't have time to deal with me, even though the store was pretty much deserted. Anyhow, yesterday when I went in, I came up to the counter to ask her to cut me some fabric just as she was finishing up with another customer. She clearly saw I was there first, but turned around and served another guy that came up to the counter after me. Well I was unhappy, so instead of getting 20cms of two different colors as I was planning, I got 10cms of every color of ultrasuede they had

. I'm on crutches too, so she had to lug 11 rolls of fabric up to the cutting table, and cut the equivelent of about 7 inches off each on. I then went home, iced my foot and called my cousin and we had a laugh over it.

I also found the address of a gun and ammo store so I should be able to get some small caliber shot to fill my bags with. Have yet to tracke down nice plastic pellets though.

Well, my foots coming along nicely. I can walk on it now with no pain, but I'm keeping the crutches for a few more days at least. When I woke up this morning my left foot (the non injured one) was incredably asleep. So I was trapped in bed for like 10 minutes because I couldn't walk on any of them!

My stitching isn't coming along too bad. I've just about completed my fourth bag, and it is my tightest yet. It will not leak. Now I want to order some Ultrasuede light, as I'm using regular ultrasuede now and its so thick these bags will take a year to break in if I wanted to use them. I'll just make them ornaments or something.....

I'm busy comparing prices for the light stuff now, so far I've found these places that offer it on the web:

Hah, the filler is another story. There are absolutley no ammunition shops in my area, there is a gun club I have yet to contact though. So my heavy fill is still in limbo. I do already have some nice dense plastic beads I found at a craft store, small, and kinda of like a pressed oval in shape. I've got patterns set up for bags ranging from small to medium in size, and I'm going to experiment with a weight in between that of my mini Abshire and my Lonn Irish. I need a scale. I'll get pics of my latest bag up in a bit.

Are they like oval an whiteish clear? i have had those befor they are used to stuff Stuffed anmials an what not, i think they to light. can we get a pic man ?

They are shaped like...... flying saucers. Like if you took an oval and crushed it, and they are a dark grey. I can proabably get some pics of them up tomorrow. Oh, and here are some pics of the bag I finished today for anyone who wants to see.

It's just a bit smaller then my well broken in Mini abshire which is on the left in these shots. It looks all hard a stiff because I'm still using regular ultrasuede, I'm going to order some Ultrasuede light tomorrow from Fields Fabrics. woo. I'll use the rest of the regular stuff to make sandbags for prospective players I find around here.

Well, another day, another morning that I've tried out my foot and find it still incapable or freestyle. But it does seem to be improving. Time for some more ice.

I saw the new Exorcist move last night. Loved it. I didn't catch one stupid line of dialog, or easily corrected plot hole. I hate it when there are stupid little mistakes in movies that even I could have fixed. If I ever meet Father Merran(sp?) in person I think I might punch him in the face though. Your just waiting for the scary moment, then he does something even stupider that you know will result in an even more scary part. I hated him during that movie.

Father Marran -> I think I'll stick my hand into this hole that I found in a statue of the devil thats in a tunnel to hell that I found in a demon possessed curch that I decedied to enter alone, at night with a crappy lantern.

Anywho, ordered a 6, 6" bolts of ultrasuede light from fieldsfabric yesterday. They expect two week until it arrives. I thought that was a little long conisdering the package won't even be the size of a shoe box. But oh well, I'll continue making sand bags out of the ultrasuede I have now.

Oh yeah! I got the best sand to fill these bags with. It's crazy and purple! It was on sale, 40 pounds for 7 bucks at walmart! I guess no one else likes purple.....

The response I've been getting about my bags is pretty uniform, ie: Holy crap on a stick, how are you doing that well already. Maybe I have a knack for it, but all I did was take my time and stitch precisely. I put in two stitches per panel, but I make sure that they are all evenly spaced from the edge of the fabric, and between each other. Made sure all the panels were the same size when I cut them, and everything fell together from there. I'm pretty sure anyone with patience would be able to make a decent bag within a few tries. That last bag I made took me like 4.5 hours, and that was my best yet!

Well, found some usefull information today. Although there is no easily obtainable reloading shot available in my area, steel shot used for sandblasting is actually cheaper and available in very fine calibers. As small as 0.4mm. Here is a chart I found listing the different grades and diameters.

Well, I didn't think they'd do it, but it worked! I went to the ultrasuede's corporations website, and requested a sample set of ultrasuede light just for the hell of it. Had to tell them I was a company, but they sent me this nifty pack with all different colored swatches, there's almost enough material here to make 3 bags! Other then that, I'm going to attempt a session tomorrow, I think my foot is pretty much healed, it's still a little tight, but no pain. I can't beleive how much strength I've already lost out of that leg. Hopping on one foot, I can now only get like 3-4" off the ground, and tired quickly.

Holy crap everyone, we're all getting injured. To Henryg, I hope your ankle isn't broken, and Tweak hopefully your neck & back troubles will be fixable.

My ankle seems almost better now. I can cock it all the way into a clipper position now, but there is tightness and hints of pain with it. Can't run or jump yet. I can walk without limping, but I still do stairs jerkingly. It'll be two weeks exactly this evening at 8:15.

With stitching, I've made 2 bags I'm very happy with with the too thick ultrasuede. My ultrasuede light should be arriving sometime this week, *yay* so I'll be able to make proper bags.
In other news I'm in the process of building myself a new computer to replace my aging one. I'm getting in on the beta test for the new 64 bit version of windows XP, woo, I heard its pretty damn nice, loads to desktop in like 45 seconds with the hardware I'm getting.
