Both Sides in One String, Beesauce, BSOS...

This term is highly used and respected.
But still, its not very accurate. It doesn't tell how the tricks were in the string. They can be at the start and the end or mid-string. In a barely guiltless string with just BOP's or in a really tough tripless string...


If you are hitting Barfly BSOS...
- can you do it like
Barfly > op Butterfly > op Butterfly > Barlfy > handcatch
so that the tricks are at the start and at the end?

- Or like
Op Butterfly > Barfly > Op Butterfly > Op Butterfly > Barfly > Op Butterfly
so that both tricks are mid-string?

These were only examples. What I mean that do you think that the term BSOS should mean 'perfect' control that you can do both sides mid-string.
At the examples I used only op Butterflies to make it string. Perhaps it should be something like this:

Blurriest BSOS:
Butterfly > Paradox Mirage > Dimwalk > Blurriest > Op Butterfly > Ripwalk > Blur > Legbeater > Blurriest > Osis > Paradox Whirl > Ripwalk > ...
Would that be real BSOS? A decent combo with some real tricks before, between and after the beesauce tricks?
It depends on the difficulty of the beecause tricks too, that's right.

I voted the third option.. I mean, it does stand for "Both Sides One String", right?

I remember starting a thread along the same lines as these. It was called "the true meaning of bsos". Based on the "Current" meaning of bsos, it clearly just states that its "both sides of string". Meaning, pixie legover > pixie legover could be bsos.

I personally think that bsos is cooler thrown midstring, but thats not what the current definition states. I'm also not saying that bsos at beginning and end is inferior.

My feeling is that bsos, should ultimatly not be a b2b, should be thrown in midstring (rather thatn first trick last trick). Bsos at the beginning is normally coming off of a trick of most control (or out of your hand for that matter), and at the end, doesn't have to be all that in control for you are just catching.

Just my thoughts. I KNOW what bsos is, I RESPECT what bsos is, and I RESPECT anything remotly related to bsos thrown down by anyone. I just feel like, eventually, bsos should be more strict in its definition.

I voted the first option but I wouldn't call the first example a string - 4 moves is a very small string - maybe I'd call it a combo although an easier one.

If you hit something like:
nemesis>superfly>mobius>marius>marius>spanish fly>blurry barroque>nemesis>attempted alpine sixty nine swirl (drop)
then I'd say you hit nemesis bsos even though it's the first and last move

(or if the combo was butterfly>mirage>atw>pixie>legover>illusion>ducking toe stall>butterfly - butterfly bsos)

bsos just means both sides one string. We went over this in shredsters post a while back. It doesn't need to be broken down any further. It is just a way of saying that you hit a combo both sides without dropping the bag.
