Okay, I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else before.
Starting a couple weeks ago, I've been having pains in my right shoulder, and surrounding back and neck areas. Over the past 5 days or so, mornings have been the worst. When I wake up it hurts to get out of bed, but usually was fine for most of the day and I could carry out my daily junk that I normally do without too much trouble or pain. Last night this pain struck me like a tonne and a half of friggin' bricks. Yesterday started with the normal pain in the morning, I asked a friend to help me out of bed by lending me his hand and everything was good. Then I went swimming with a friend, and after about 30 minutes of swimming the pain started coming back so I got out of the water and just chilled for a bit. As each minute passed the pain got worse and worse, it came to the point where it hurt to laugh, walk and other things. Even hurt to breathe sometimes. Getting in and out of the car was a bitch. So we get back to my friend Doug's house, and the pain was unbearable at this point. So I downed 4 extra strength Tylenol, and 4 Ibuprofins and got a friend to drive me home. Took another 2 extra strength Tylenol and waited. Last night sucked, most painful night ever. It hurt to sit and to lay down. Hurt most getting out of a laying down position. Plus the painkillers didn't work much at all, if at all. Just made me feel a bit dopey. I got to sleep around midnight, figuring I should try to get sleep and let my body rest and heal. Nope, I'm not allowed doing that apparently because I woke up at 7:00am with intense pains all over the described area, plus it spread down my back a bit. The pains are the same, if not worse this morning. Now I can barely move my head/neck without it hurting badly, and need to watch my range of motion with my arms and back to make sure I'm not overdoing it. Also I look like a fucking ogre with a hunchback because my head hurts to put it up straight, and my right arm & side of body is slouched. It took about 5 minutes of trying to get out of bed this morning.
So, anyone ever experience this?
Sorry if it's in the wrong section, just move it or whatever.

When I had mono I had horrible pains in my left shoulder and the left side of my gut, both from deep or rapid breathing. These symptoms came before the overwhelming tiredness, so even if you're not tired now, it still may be mono.

I had some flu-ish symptoms, but they were off and on really. There was plenty of time that I felt fine other than the pains in my shoulder and side. An inflamed spleen is what caused the pain, according to the ER doctors.

I hurt my lower back yesterday trying to hit a darkwalk or something pixie diving - It wasn't too serious and I kept playing but it definitly effected my game. When I got home I iced it a little and then had a spa bath and that really helped, then today before I kicked I rubbed in some deep heat and I played well - it didn't give me any trouble at all.
But personally if I had your symptoms I'd go see a doctor!

I just remembered that when I had my mono aches, one telling sign was that the pain just didn't FEEL like it was muscular in nature. It felt like it was coming from the very inside of me, almost like a hollowness. So if you feel that way, definately ask your doctor about a mono test.
