There's no toe box. I don't think those are related to the 300's and 520's...
As for which I prefer - I'm not sure yet. I've been playing in 520's for about a month and have been very satisfied, but I don't think I've played in them long enough or in enough pairs to give a proper critique.
That is a pretty pretty shoe and you'd look pimp rocking them kicks (hey, that's an amazing name for footbag shoes) but they look not so hot for footbag, dont you think?
the bag would be thrown off by the convex toe area, and you wouldn't even feel the bag to boot.
from what I can see the inside shape looks ok, just do clipper based tricks.
I don't think the toe box is actually convex. Maybe its stuffed with paper like they'll do with shoes at a store. To me, toe rails aren't always needed.
a) Foxy shoes. They look like they have good surfaces. Although sometimes it's hard to tell before you get them on your feet. Who would have known the CT300s were so sweet, with that divet in the instep?
b) The main difference I found between Lavers and CT300s ( haven't tried 520s, but they're on order...woohoo! ) is stability vs. 'feeling the bag'. The CT300s are a bit heavier with much better support. They are also cut lower around the ankle, allowing good flexibility. Lavers are super light, and the mesh on the instep is so thin, that you can actually feel the bag on your foot ( the instep material on CT300s is a bit thicker ). I also find Lavers very punishing to bad form, due to their lack of support ( this can be taken as a blessing or a curse ).
Overall, I've been very happy with the CT300s. I think they have helped tremendously with the development of my game, especially with regards to string length. I also used to rush the bag constantly, and I think the heavier shoe with added support helped me to slow things down.

Kinda got that retro laver color, but look very similar to the CT500KN except a little bit bigger in size, I wonder how good they would be in comparison to both. I never have worn anything but lavers and skate shoes, which suck ace
That white one you found looks rather nice, as does the Jorden shoe in the second photo.
I think perhaps that in the website shot they have a toe insert that is holding the shoe in the 'person wearing it' position giving it the rounded look perhaps more than it really has.
i'm gonna be the first person not to jump on the band wagon and say those shoes are ugly. i'm not a fan of the orange navy combo. yellow and blue, cool, orange and purple, good, but this color combo just doesn't suite me. i guess i just like my complemntry colors a little too much.
