Great Rappers

Post by brian relly »

I know there used to be this same topic about a year ago or so, but it got deleted by the looks of things. I just thought I'd revive it. Talk about your favorite rapper/hip hop artist/dj HEEYUH.

I'll start:
These aren't in alphabetical order.
  • DJ Rectangle
    Notorious B.I.G. (avatar)
    Wu-Tang Clan
    Snoop Dogg
    Dr. Dre
Puff Daddy (not P. Diddy (sorta))
    Mos Def
    Talib Kweli
    Mr. Lif
    Westside Connection (sorta)
    Eminem
    Ice T.
    Outkast
    Me'shell Ndegeocello
    KRS One
    J5
    Jay Z
    Heiroglyphics
    Fugees/Wyclef Jean
    deltron 3030
    D-12

...all I can think of right now.

Edit: None of those "Rap sucks" bullshit posts. If you don't like rap, get tha fuck out!

Alright I hate rap but my favorite rappers are...
the rage against the machine guy (kind of rapper)
The At the drive in Singer (hardly rapper at all but kind of in some songs)
and Dizzy Raschal because he's so funny.

I don't like Tupac much. I know I should, but I just don't. Maybe I need to get the right album.

yeh im a bit like that Stephen, i dont really get what all the fuss is about with Tupac, hes ok but i probably havent heard enough of his stuff either
i like 'California Love' and 'Gangsta Party'

- Twista - so incredibly fast
- B-Real - he has one of those voices that give me chills when i hear him rap
- Charli 2na - same as above, he is so awesome
- Guru
- Xzibit

hmm cant think of any more that havent been said... there are some i like cos they are cool, others who are actually really talented

Yeah, California Love is pretty awesome. I believe they used it in the Worlds 2002 section of the Champion's League.

jurassic 5
dr. dre (I love "the chronic" so much more than 2001)
I know it was said already, but Guru and DJ Premier make up the nastiest rap group ever! Gangstarr rocks the house. I'm not ashamed to admit either that I was first introduced to Gangstarr by watching Eli's section on "where the ripwalk ends". Above the clouds baby. I must say that "moment of truth" is one of the best albums I have ever bought.

The absolute grand Mac Daddy of all MC's is without a doubt The Story Teller- Slick Rick. His voice is just too smooth, "Nuns even say the motherfucker's remarkable!"

I rate Tu Pac highly as well. Prob the best ever, the most thugarific voice in hip hop and his lyrics had meaning. His poetry is also pretty good, I got the rose that grew from concrete book.

Eminem is wicked
Dre is the shizzel
Snoop is just the man, his mc'ing my not be great but he rules
Wu Tang were good up until Forever. Golden Arms (u god) was a fav of mine as well as Rebel ins. & the gza
Eddie Humphrey, "ay yo fat girl, come here are you tickelish?"

Tu Pac and Ricky D though are the pinacle of hip hop for me.

Has anyone heard of Common? I keep hearing good things about him, but haven't gotten around to downloading anything.
