Highland Ridge Campground, Walk-In site E
Saturday afternoon and Sunday night, until Monday afternoon.

Take Interstate 94 east from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Exit 24. Take County Road B at Exit 24 south approximately 2 miles. Follow highway signs east on County Road N for another 2 miles until it intersects County Road NN. Go south on NN for 2 miles until campground entrance sign, turn right.
Or, if you have a GPS, this'll get you most of the way there.

Not much parking, if any, but if you can find the place, you're welcome to shred with me. There may not be a way to get a hold of us while we're there, besides actually going there... We drive a blue '89 civic, so if you see it in the parking lot, come on over!

Ok, so no one showed up. :P
I don't blame you, we were in the middle of nowhere. The closest town was Menominee, WI. We were 47 miles from St. Paul, and almost exactly the same distance from Eau Claire.

Highlights of the camping trip:
Waking up with puddles in the tent...
Hitting 5 alternating clippers,
Waterproofing our tent with plastic dropcloths...
Waking up with LESS puddles in the tent.
Using a 10x20 foot tarp, some rope, and a long stick to make a roof over a picnic table just so we could make dinner...
And the best of all:
Tornado warning, in a tent...

It was loads of fun, but next time I'll camp near some shredders. :P

If anyone wants to go camping, and hates the regular drive-up campgrounds, but doesn't really want to HIKE in, I'd highly suggest the walk-in sites at Highland Ridge. you park, then walk a hundred feet or so to your site. It's a bit more fun than the tailgate-camping most people seem to prefer these days. :P
