Although you will probably disagree, I use Vans slip on's for shredding, and so far I have been progressing alot.

I can feel the bag, and the insole provides a good kick.

I'm sure those work ok, but I'm also sure lavers would work alot better. I don't see why everyone is trying to find so many alternatives ? Lavers work. They aren't expensive. They aren't hard to find.

Well then half the fins (Climacool) don't freestyle, neither do most of the shredders with larger feet(CT300, CT520).

Most people do better in lavers, but they're not the only shoe out there.

I've seen people hack in those and they said that they didn't work to well, never used them personally. But if it works for you, keep on it!

no doubt! you might want to atleast try the lavers, break them in a bit, and play in both shoes just to be able to compare the differences between the 2. and besides, if they aren't your cup of tea, you can always sell them!

The thing is, I don't really like Addidas that much, so Lavers aren't really my thing.

Whats the big problem with lavers?? If it's good enough for Vasek and Pete and Ryan Mulroney, its good enough for you.

You will get ALOT ALOT better with lavers, especially once you break them in properly.

hey, if you want kind of crazy shoes (cause it seems like you do). You can always get the red lavers, there awsome... or you get those plad lavers we found a while ago on ebay

Skate shoes are REALLY heavy. If you don't like Adidas at least try another mesh tennis shoe. (Although I highly suggest the purchase of Lavers.)

I'm with the thoughtless agreement to lavers here.

I've had a pair of slipons before. They started me out just fine, but when I got the Lavers, my game more or less skyrocketed. The reason people get the lavers is because they are light and relatively easy to modify. If you follow cars at all, they are like the Civic's of the sport compact scene.

Other known alternatives are gravis dunbars, New balance CT300's and 520's (if I'm correct), the g-unit shoes (overpriced lavers really), natasees (I don't know the spelling on them, sorry), climacools (only a specific one...), more or less the stan smiths, and modding the fuck out of your own shoes (usually).

From the picture you provided, toxic, your shoes look very slippery. Are they really? Good luck on finding your perfect shoe.

frankin clydes toe box is a bit rounded and its a bulkier, heavier shoe. These were the shoes i was wearing at the time when i started freestyle. Then i got lavers. I haven't looked back.

The main problem with skate shoes like vans are that they're really heavy. At first, this may not be an issue, but once you start doing higher add moves, the weight really holds you back. Lavers are generally pretty light compared to other shoes. Also, the earlier you start using lavers, the better you'll be with them later. In the future, you'll thank yourself for switching earlier.

To anyone who knows: How are climcools? I know that they're really light, and have great ventilation, but what's their technical value compared to lavers? Are they as good for actual shredding as lavers, or is their design a hinderance.

Yah,if you are so adimit at using something other that lavers. Try getting some Ct 520's or maybe some Reebok G-Unit G6. I heard the g6's are hard to come across but are sussposed to be great. Also another reason skate shoes arn't good is cause they have to much ankle support. The more you have the less you can crank it in the xbd position. I tried as hard as I could in skate shoes and could like only crank to like a 50 degree angle.
