The Media and Bias

Post by Allan »

This thread is an attempt to start a discussion on:

The Media and Bias

Please don't pollute this thread by mentioning things that have no bearing on this topic or contain personal references to the authors of comments. Take your personal comments and post them somewhere else.

I thought the following site had some pretty interesting stories listed. Obviously, this web site has a leftist bias. Can someone please present some sites that take an intelligent stance in the opposite direction?

Personally, these days, I am learning lots of stuff by reading right wing publications such as http://www.fraserinstitute.ca/ - it's important to know how the 'other side' thinks (when it does so intelligently).

Allan, I have also been expanding my news sources.

Listening to more left-leaning radio (not NPR), gives me a better view of the bias of BOTH sides.

I'll check out the Fraser institute sometimes, thanks

Some interesting international news can be found near the bottom, after you scroll past all the Bush-cheerleading on top.

Juicy tidbits in the middle of the page can be found, also.

Mostly economic and immigration commentary.

Paul Craig Roberts usually lambasts the Prez. on various war-related topics in his columns, but writes other decent stuff.

Many stories contain extensive hyperlinks to sources and stuff.

More bush-cheerleading, but this link is to an article about Iran nukes by Alan Caruba, whose articles I like sometimes.
