My brother's music

Post by Muffinman »

I've been as king my brother for ages for this one song he wrote. My brother is probably the most talented musician I have ever known. He is probably one of the people I look up to most in the world. These first two songs he wrote in like 1996 in cakewalk pro audio in his pre-keyboard days. He played every part in realtime on his computer keyboard! He is the kind of musician that sits down and plays whatever is in his head -- simply amazing. I have an entire directory he gave me today of "ramblings" -- things he just played off the top of his head on his keyboard which are just as impressive as these songs. The first two tracks were basically off the top of his head but with multiple parts. The third song is something he composed in Acid, but he created all the samples on his keyboard (except the guitar, he said).

I would love feedback on these. I've always loved my brother's music. Isn't he amazing???

EDIT: Here's one of the ramblings. This is exactly how he sounds when he just sits down at our piano at home. Straight from his head!

He also bought this REALLY nice electronic(?) drumset for his apartment because his real drumset he left at home would be too loud in his apartment. I played on it today. It's super neat! He's always played piano and drums and he's learning guitar now, too.

Yeah I listened to some of those and have to agree that he's really talented!

I liked his stuff a lot!

Does he have plans of taking it further? Releasing a cd or something?

Thanks heaps for the links!

I really enjoyed that music, your brother is definitely talented. Erik, give him some props for me will ya!?

:!:

Edit: That last track you listed before the edit you made sounds like it should be on Command and Conquer.

We all think he should have gone into music or something. He's a CRAZY good writer, too. But he loves computers and that's what he does with most of his time, which is good since that's what he loves most and because he has a lot of job opportunities with it (he's a technician for the school division).
My whole family is really musical and I was freestyling in my livingroom one night while my brother played keyboard, another brother played oboe and my dad sang.
Thanks for the replies :)

Let your brother know that he's truely inspired a fellow pianist. There were some awesome moments in those tracks that left a lump in my throat.

Props, that freestyle piano was pretty damn good. Amazing to think he's not reading off of anything.

They say God lives inside us. If this is true, I hope he likes salmonella. Because that's what he's getting.
