My crib had some shit lifted over the weekend.
My neighbors threw a party and left the door to the warehouse propped open.
Now my landlord is forcing us to get insurance . . . which means those bitches just cost me money.
I have to work 20 hours to earn the money for the insurance . . .meaning
They just cost me three days of my life . . . or roughly a whole months worth of my spending cash. Weak.

I hit a butterfly swirl Sunday in the park. It was sweet.
Not exactly hot girl said " You are so hot, you should get naked. "
Probably the best comment ever. Definately up there with "you guys make me wet.", and " ".
I'm digging my new sports drink and recovery drink.
After a long break, I'm back on my bike again. Hit 38mph today peddling on flat ground. I'm still terrified going down hills and ride the breaks like a wuss. Scored a new messenger bag to carry my stuff around. Got the red and grey chrome metropolis. Best bag I've owned I think. Carries two baskets of groceries with a bit of room to spare. Rides like a dream. Super comfortable straps. A little larger than I needed, which is exactly what I was thinking when I bought it.
Kryptonite. You would think a lock company would stand behind their products. Seriously. I have a 80 dollar lock, and three keys that open the lock. Do they think I stole it ? Why would a lock company want it's customers to get screwed out of their money ? Clearly an $80 lock is a lifetime purchase. the packaging said gauranteed for a lifetime against defects in materials and workmanship. I opened my lock in 22 seconds the first try wth the bic. Granted, I've picked a lock or two before, but still. I thought I bought security, when in fact the lock is not a lock at all. I thought I bought a lock where I had the only public keys, but they gave me a lock where everyone has the key. They screwed up on the distribution of materials. I want my exclusive lock for free damnit.
Kryptonite should be replacing any defective lock for free as part of the lifetime gaurantee on the product against defects. If a customer can bring the lock into a dealer and open it, i think the customer is entitled to a new bottom bar and key set.
edit: kryptonite is very concerned about their reputation and will do everything they can to stand behind their products. New replacement policy to be revealed shortly.
I'll be traveling to Cold Spring Harbor to t.a. a course in programming for genomics. Finally get to practice kung foo with people whose kung foo is better than mine. I'm stoked, I haven't learned anything new in a long time, with regards to genomics programming.

Kryptonite finally changed their story and position. Now they are interested in the most comprehensive replacement program possible.

Duh. . . Why wasn't the first response of the company "Holycrap, we make locks that aren't locks. Lets replace those as quick as possible",“We decided to simplify and expand our planned product upgrade program . . . . Standing by our customers is the responsible thing to do for those who rely on our security products to keep their valuables safe.”
Instead when I first sent them an email alerting them to the issue they said

When I first started the top players were direct and to the point " This is an advanced circle, go somewhere else" , " These bags are only for sale to top players, I'm not going to sell you one" , "This is a BAP circle, go somewhere else" . . . nice. The top players were not really interested in getting new people into the sport. Events were for the advanced players to get together and play with each other, at least from my perspective. I'm sure they were interested . . . but it was really hard to tell.
Fine. I'll go elsewhere.
I went to San Diego. Richie sold me my first really good bag, even though I sucked. Canyon took my number and said he would call when they sessioned. Canyon and Richie made me feel welcome to come out and play with them. They invited me out to play, 2-4 times a week. They were strictly interested in everyone getting better. Richie was actively bringing new people into the game, not telling them to school on their own and come back when they are ready to play with the big boys.
"We go in order and take turns. If you drop your first trick, just go again , we aren't trying to get hacks here. Just take your turn when it comes around. We all get our bag time. "
It's a stark difference to be made to feel welcome instead of being told to go practice by yourself untill you are good enough to play with us. It was made it clear that the only spot "no self serves" was written was on a hacky sack package. The general public doesn't give a fuck about hacky sack, so why should we care if the public disapproves when they see us self serve . .. it's not like hacky sack can get any less respect from the public anyway. Besides we weren't starting rallies, we were taking turns doing our thing and showing each other what we have been working on.
Personally, I don't really care if people call it selfish. I think footbag is one big selfish endulgence of mine. I play 99% of the time solo. I don't do it for my parents. I don't do it for my friends. I don't do it for respect from the public. I don't do it for money. I don't do it for fame. I don't do it to post video on the internet. I'm not training for the next contest. I'm not training to get better for the next jam. I don't do it for any reason other than I enjoy it. . . . it's a selfish persuit of mine. I've put off friends and family to play before, I'm selfish.
The style I learned in san diego freed everyone in the group to work on what they wanted , and everyone had a good time watching each other get better and try new stuff. Everyone getting a turn hardly seemed as selfish as telling people to go somewhere else and come back when they are good enough.
It's was, and is, consistently better in san diego. I don't have to be playing well to have a good time there. I feel welcome to come down and play any time, and if I decide I want to work on a three trick combo all weekend nobody gives a damn, because they are occupied with what they are working on. Richie has called me up and said " Earth day is this weekend on a thursday, and I drove 8 hours down for the weekend the next day." It's that consistently fun to play with Jason, RIchie, and more often than not, Chad is there too. I've called richie up at 1:30 on a friday afternoon many times and hit the road at 2:00 . . . it's so consistently enjoyable to play with them that I don't have to wonder how my legs will feel ... I'll feel welcome to play with him no matter how I am playing. Some people could call me up a week in advance to play on a saturday afternoon on my own block . . . and I wouldn't know if I wanted to play or not until I finished my coffee saturday morning. There is no point in playing one touch if I don't have nice fresh legs and I am in the mood for such a thing. I'm just going to bring negative energy into the circle. I don't want to ruin someone elses idea of fun, I'd rather play solo and do my own thing.
If I get a chance to kick with someone I wouldn't kick with at an event, I'll gladly go and try my best to play by their rules and have a good time. I'm more interested in watching them hit stuff than I am hitting my own stuff under those circumstances anyway. It's not like I am going to hit anythign they haven't seen before.
I called Peter from a hotel room on a business trip.
I was honored Peter would even answer the phone, let alone have me over to his house to kick with him. I never really talked to Peter at any of the events where I saw him , but he treated me like we knew each other for a long time. When I used to go to events, I would never jump into a circle with Peter, He is way over my head. I tried to just bring a good attutude to the session and was glad he would even play with me. I am fairly certain I kept the self serves under a dozen, and tried to follow the house rules once I observed what was going on. Peter kept the environment much like Richie keeps San Diego. I felt welcomed to be there. I felt like he wanted everyone to get a fair chance at hitting something. I received something like five pass backs one time . . . so it was obvious the one touch rule was not just to get the bag more and dominate the circle. I had a great time, and it was an enlightening experience into how one touch could actually be fun and not a mind fuck. It was genuinely as much fun as Richie makes SD experience, and I really did feel like Peter wanted me to have my turn. I didn't hit shit, and I dropped about 60% of the passes, but I felt very welcome to be there. I know Peter is very stern about this one rule, and it pains me to disagree with a man who is exceptional in so many ways. I respect his opinions, and I'm sure his experience in the sport is vastly different than mine.
Unfortunately the Peter experience is the exception and not the rule in my experience. Too often I feel like the one touch rule is used for psychological reasons more than anything else. When I meet people I want them to feel welcome in the circle regardless of their skill level as Richie and Canyon made me feel welcome when I was a newbie. When the bag comes to them, It's their turn for all intents and purposes, and I want them to take their turn and pass when they are done. I don't want them to feel like someone else controlls if they get to have a turn or not . . .or to feel like they need to step out of the circle because they can't keep up. I'm not saying this should be the eitquette for every circle, or it's the only way to play. I'm saying it's the way that made me feel the most welcome to play with more advanced players, and that is how I am going to present the game to new people I meet who are interested in learning tricks. I don't have the charisma of peter, I can't enforce the one true way, and still make it clear to someone they are welcome in the circle.
Being made to feel welcome is the only reason I got good enough that I still play today and enjoy it, and I remember who made me feel welcome to play and why. I think the era of play and performance are about to overtake the political views and will provide a more positive element to the world of shred. I mix my accelerade two scoops to a liter . . . and the 56 serving container ends up running me about $0.90 a session. The directions on the package were a little too salty for my taste.
I use the endurox r4 at the dosage indicated on the package, cuz I"m not really thirsty or hungry after a session and just want to get the stuff down.
Here is the way I found to get the best discount. . .
1) Become a GNC gold member. It costs a few bucks.
2) Go into GNC during the first week of the month (not sure if the week is a local thing or chain wide standard . . . I suspect it's chainwide) and buy the product for an additional discount (20-25% off if I remember correctly)
3) If you want to use both, buy the endurox r4 first . . . and then take the $$$ off coupon and go back into the store and buy the accelerade as a seperate purchase.
I think for both I ended up paying just shy of $50 with the membership card and the purchase lasted me over a month. I got the 56 serving accelerade, and the 14 serving endurox r4.

Johnny and I rocked the drum circle for 3 point five hours Sunday in the park with a couple of joe randoms. Huge strings, huge combos, and tons of new tricks for me. So much fun. Some guy brought a trombone and sax to the drum circle, the beats went off. I busted a verse or two that were dope as shit. . . the weather was beyond good, the wind actually stopped in the city.
Thought about checking to see if other people were in the park, but johnny said you need an appointment to kick with them . . . so we stayed by the beats and busted.
I was so exhausted I passed out on the coach and couch at 7:30 and woke up for work today feeling great. My legs feel awesome . . . I blame the endurox.
