Living in Distopia

Post by Johnny »

Hey guys, I figured that I should start my footblog some time soon. I don't really have anything to post right now, but hopefully you can help me with that.

I got a new camera, and I think that I need a firewire card to capture the video. But until then I can still get crappy-quality footage through the memory card, but with a max of about 5 mins. I'm not going to bother editing until I get the firewire card or whatever I need, so these videos will be shittier than shit. Just raw footage.

I'm still excited to get my camera though, and I think you guys should give me suggestions (single tricks, strings, drills/combos whatever) as to what you want to see from me if you don't mind crappy quality footage for a while. As soon as I see your suggestions I'll hit it up on video and post the video asap!

PM me with things you want to see, or get in touch through msn.

Finally, I started schooling again, after sooo long not even bothering. I can see my game will start to pick back up again. I think it reallly helps to have a camera to try and push yourself.

I tried some shuffling tonight, like I usually do, but I encorporated some fairy in there because its a concept I rarely use.

Fairy Shuffle 1
Fairy Shuffle 2
Fairy Shuffle 3

I hit a move (tame) that was requested too. :P Alpine Rubberman was requested so I'm schooling my stepping ducking. Maybe I'll hit that combo in a couple of months.

I plan to post videos as much as I can. Hopefully you guys can deal with the quality for a bit. (Oh and could you guys PM requests if you have any instead of posting, thanks).

Since you're trying fusing, here's my request: (no idea if you've thought of trying or have tried either of these)

How about...
Hippy warped set, or paradox fusing (I guess you would call it that... nuclear atomic, hippy style, anyway)

I've hit the nuclear atomic set you suggested once, but its too painful to school. Meh.

I think me and Adam Czarnata are going to session tonight, so I'll probably have something else to post later on. But for now... Its about time I got this move on video.

Hopefully I'll hit nemesis again for video.

It was a combination of your tips and Jeremy O'Wheels barraging tips that helped me hit this move. I felt it really helped just to relax.

Thanks guys!

Yes again.

I had a couple of sessions today; the first of which was with Adam Dexter, Adam Czarnata, Jarrett Hutton and my little brother Anthony. I wasn't playing my greatest but I still had a ton of fun. It was the weirdest thing, we were playing at a park with an outdoor arena, and some random 10 year old kid shows up at the opposite side to where we were shredding. This kid had a broom stick and all he was doing with it was sharpening it on the cement and staring at me. It was quite creepy. We all asked him what he was doing and he abruptly said 'fuck you', and continued sharpening is broomstick. Eventually he told us he was going to go hunting for snakes (there aren't any snakes where we were).

So this kid ended up threatening to stab us with this stick. I guess he didn't like how we were talking to him so he said he was going to go get his brother. He came back maybe 20 mins later with two teenaged girls and a little kid younger than himself. The new kid started yelling 'Do you got a problem with my cousin'. I just found it funny because he actually thought he could do something about it. Whatever. Stupid ghetto children.

By the end of that sesh it seems like everyone accomplished something, everyone had some decent runs, and some new links. My little brother beat his consecutives record to get 12 kicks. YeeAH! And Adam continued to freak me out with how close to doof he was. (Video and pictures were taken)

Later on Adam C. and I hooked back up for some more shred at a park, He was coming really close to torque and he had some long runs with some unique links. I hit some new strings that I was happy with. That's when we hit up a laundromat and shred there for a bit.

So by the end of the day I was able to hit 4 new moves (just the type of new move you know you could hit, but just never tried). I can't remember the last time I hit that many new moves in a day. I'm actually progressing. Fuck you, fucking footbag rut.

New Moves/Runs (again not that impressive):

- Fairy SS DLO > Run (both sides)
- Fairy Ducking Whirl
- Toe Whirling Butterfly (I love this set)
- Neutron Smasher > Run with Blurry Whirl > Blurry Whirl and P. Torque > P. Torque
- Ripstein (newish)
- Fog > Butterfly > Fog
- P. Egg > Butterfly > P. Egg

I have tons of video I might upload if you guys actually want to see it, I know I've sent some of it around on MSN to people I normally chat with. I should be getting a Firewire card soon, so thats a bonus.

Overall, one of the best and most inspiring footbag days for me in a while. Thanks for hauling my ass all over Brantford Adam!

Thanks Erik, it's really nice to get props from someone I learned from when I was starting to freestyle. Thanks for all of those videos!

Neutron Smasher is Atomic Gyro Mirage so you were right, I just wish I had that run on video. :P It was the most rewarding run I've had in quite a while.

Low Light Basement Shred series: Glass Shard Shred series (more to come):Single Tricks / Short Combos: I saw that last video you made with you in it. I was like "Damn, even when hes hurt and recovering he can still bust 40 contact strings!" It was great.

None of this footage is really up to par but I'm really psyched to shred again today, so with any luck I might get some more half decent footage to post.

Thanks again for the props!

DAMN!!! That was sooo sick, Johnny!!! It's ALLL about the bothsided nuclear!! Those runs were just huge! The run with barfry beesauce, atomic whirl and blurriest was crazy -- I was all, like, ahh! Can't wait for more!!! It would be cool to see a longer video with a bunch of these kinds of clips put together. What are you filming with? The clips seem pretty chunky. I also realy liked the Moir-esque mobius > reverse walkover!!

Thanks for the props, Johnny!!!!

Had a short session tonight, I schooled p. dlos and atomic.

- Raised my consecutive atomsmasher record to 34.
- Tied my Rubberman record at 6.
- Was close to flip nemesis.
- Pdox DLO, Fog, Haze in separate BSOS runs.
- Footed Tornado.

Want a cardio workout? Try consecutive atomsmashers!!! I think I'm going to school flails and symp double downs next.
