Actually, do what you want because obviously you know what makes you happy, something that none of us here know. If it makes you happy, then all the power to you.
As for me, I'm going to call it a nite because I know that I'm happiest when I get a good sleep
Do the wait until 18 thing though and be sure. If you are still with the guy then it's for real. You're so lucky to have found someone already, many spend their whole lives looking for 'the one' and never find him / her. I hope it works out.
just be aware of the fact that as you mature, the person that you are is going to change. That includes your opinions, wants, and needs. Just have a good time, leave your options open, don't let drama overtake your life and relationship, and if you're going to have sex, get on birth control. Don't complicate your life by talking about being together forever in your teens. That's the onramp to a downward spiral.
The fact that you felt it necessary to post and ask this on a forum full of people you don't know makes it quite obvious to me that you aren't exactly in a relationship that is solid enough to be considered marriage material (at this point anyway).
This seems pretty cut and dry, you are a KID, who is dating a (legal) adult. There's obviously something very messed up about this if you are seriously considering marrying someone when you are 14.
I would say 4 years isn't that big an age difference. Especialy not when you get older. I would diffenatly not get married now, because people change. If when your 20 or something though, go ahead, don't let the age difference stop you.
again!i am not going to get married until i am 18-20..i am not going to have sex...if he forces me to do it then hes out the door. i am not going to be forced to do something that i feel is uncomfortable...i wanted some advice from some ppl that didnt really know me that is why i posted here... i am the happiest i have ever been in my life! personally i dont think we will last for the next 4 years..my grandmother(legal gaurdian) and her first husband (grandfather) were 12 years apart..that might be y she is comfortable with me and my bf that an i think that she doesnt belive that we will be together forever..lol i dont think that either but its a nice thot still! thanz to all of yall for the advice!
love me or hate me
aka mary! soon to be (hopefully if 4 years is soon) mary dobrow
Getting slightly off topic - why this forum? Do you play footbag? Or does your boyfriend/finance post here? [Jeremy trys to remember who is 18 or around that age]
I think Byrin is almost 18 - maybe a week or two and he seemd fairly postiive about the whole thing - without being too postitive and drawing attention to himself...

So not only are you 14 and definitely not ready to make any sort of decisions about engagement, but you yourself don't even believe you'll last for the next 4 years. Why on earth do you bother getting engaged to the guy then?
i still feel the same, but i guess that i shouldnt have said it, and just kept it to myself. but there is no reason, if you have a doubt that you wont last four years, for you to even get engaged. if you dont love him enough to feel that you will last, why would u get engaged or married?

Hmm. I think it would be nice to at least respect people's rights to make a decision. You don't have to agree with their choices but you can at least respect the fact that they are allowed to make them and not abuse them for it.
I'm quite convinced that if people made an effort to understand each others point of view the world would be a much better place. You can't control other people's actions but you can control your own!!
Peace is right! I'm a hard core hippy if you were to categorize me.
Props Jeremy!
All I really have to say is; dating someone so old and being so in to them is something I see a lot around where I live. I don't know anyone who really stayed with the person but, I can tell you, it's one way to be really heartbroken in the end.
