What country do you think has the largest footbag scene in the world? Not just most players but most recognizable scene in the community.

Also what country do you think has the fastest growing footbag scene??

I think that there is biggest amount of footbag players in USA.
Probaply some European country has the fastest growing footbag scene.

Hello!!
i think footbag scene in Poland is growing really fast. it's about four years now sence we've started freestyling, and now we've got more than 20 clubs registered at footbag.org. Also, number of young palyers and level of their game is growing fast.

But the most recognizable scene.. hmm.. let me think..

maybe Czech footbag scene with few world famous players like Vasek, Honza and Ales..

Finland also have large number of grate players.

I think its too hard to tell which one country has the best scene, or which is growing the fastest. Any country with a decent scene must be growing fast with all these new players starting.

i think czech, finland, and poland are growing very fast. I mean czech has the top 2 freestylers in the world right now. I didn't go to worlds this year, but I heard there were just tons of finns just busted hardcore. I many polish people from this forum seem to be progressing pretty fast. But thats just my opinion, I may be wrong

For women's scene, I'd have to say Switzerland. from what jan says, he sees more girl circles around town than boys.

I think that the czech's may have the most visible scene.

Finland - 6 or 7 BAP (I can't even begin to think of which are which, sorry :\ Lasse Salmenhaara, Jere Vainikka, Jere Linnanen, Miko Koistinen, others...? Sorry about spelling mistakes)
Czech Republic - 3 BAP (Honza, Ales, Vasek... Any others?)
Canada - ... 7? (Ellis Piltz, Yacine Merzouk, Sebastien Duchesne, Dylan Fry, Allan Haggett, Nick Laroche, Jorden Moir)

I don't know how many good intermediate players there are in the Czech Republic, but it doesn't seem like there has been much major development aside from Vasek being crazy old Vasek.

Aside from that, Canada and Finland both seem to be blowing up. Finland has had a huge number of BAP inductees in the past couple years, as well as many new tremendously promising looking players. Juho Marjo, anyone? Canada also seems like it's blowing up - Montreal and Ontario are both getting huge. Montreal already was, but Ontario has Jorden Moir, Johnny, etc. -- all of which are getting good. I can't really think of any other country that seems to have had such huge development aside from Japan, but it doesn't seem like Japan's quite on that skill level, yet.

Anyone know how fast footbag as a whole is growing? Like are we pretty much staying steady, or are we doubling every 5 years or something.... anyone have any idea.

hmm - that doesn't sound very cool to me - the girls won't want to kick with you after that either

I think Finland - not only are there more bap players than any other country in Europe, but there are also lots of really good up and coming players - Anssi who posts on this board is one of the fasted learning players I have ever seen - I don't know of anybody who could marius both sides before they'd been playing for a year.

Also I think Ales is moving or has moved to Finland (perhaps somebody can confirm this?)- so with that in mind it sounds like Finland is the footbag capital of the world (even including the US since the US is so big and spread out). Finland also has lots of net players - which is something the Czech Republic doesn't have.

Felix Zenger, Tuukka Antikainen, Toni Pääkkönen and if I remember correctly Mikko Lepistö is also BAP. Sorry guys, if I forgot any of you.

We're having the biggest ever footbag event in Finland this weekend, hopefully that brings some new players to the sport. Also Worlds next year should/must interest new people.

About Ales moving to Finland, I heard he's coming to FFO and staying after that. I can ask it from him in two days. I can actually ask it in finnish since he understands it quite well and speaks it ok as well.
