symposium whirls

Post by comastalker »

I really have problems hitting them, though I cannot define why.
The part which seams to be the problem is the stall, but it may also be the entire rest (it's hard to say). The bag often bounces off my clipper foot and I almost got no time doing the stall. I train symposium whirls since 3 months now and the only 3 ones I've hit were ps whirls.
I cannot see what I do wrong.

Any advice would be good, because there is no advice on the entire i-net ! Maybe how far away of your body the bag is, if it's in front/ beside / behind you... dunno, but I need help

Do not set the bag up at all, just move your setting leg out of the way. If you set it very high, it's hard to dex the bag.
I really can't give any good advices to Smp Whirls cause I really suck in them...

??

It all depends on which type of symp whirl you are attempting. Toe set symp whirls prove a little harder than clipper set symp whirls. I assume (since most do) you are trying for a clipper set symp whirl.

For those, i don't set the bag very high. When i set the bag, i immediatly jump off my support leg. Its simultaneous. I start dexing immediatly and i do not have to jump very high. Keep your dex low (but make sure to not the it)

For toe set symp whirls, you must set the bag about waist height, and somewhat in the middle of your body (imagine a vertical line going straight down). From there, it is simply just a motion you must get used to.

I, do clipper set symp whirls a little different though in that i like set it about waist high, then do a symp whirl. But you can do an easy clipper symp whirl by setting it very low.

I can do clip set ss whirls, but I don't call them symp whirls, because they are "too uptime".
I'm working on at least midtime whirls, like from op toe or pdx clip

thanks for the tips on that (and also on the other ones, though I can't learn from them)

how do you whirl in front of you ? I've never seen that

Well, i set it like that so that i can more or less just jump over the bag, rather than doing a long, very hard symp whirl thats at my side that i have to reach for. Maybe it isn't in the middle of my body, but when i toe symp whirl, i definatly don't set it way out to the side like you may think :)

Thanks for making me think
