Let's get some of this information straightened out..

These are the correct Finnish BAP-members in order of inducting:

1999 Mika Koistinen
2003 Felix Zenger, Tuukka Antikainen, Jere Vainikka
2004 Jere Linnanen, Toni Pääkkönen, Lasse Salmenhaara

Then about Ales moving to Finland. Yeah, that's his plan, but he needs to work out the legal stuff in order to do so. So, he will first come to Footbag Finnish Open's with Vasek and then go back. After he gets everything figured out with the embassy, he will move to Finland. He said he would stay for a year, but who knows.

I think Finland is representing hardcore not only because of our BAP -members, but also because we have so many players close to that level. After this year inductions some of us were talking about the future and we could easily name 5-10 that if they continue to play can be BAP-level in a 1-2 years.

We also have good players all over Finland, so you can go to almost any bigger city and find a lot of players to play with. And when a new player starts, he/she will always have someone good to guide him/her. The situation is the best here in Helsinki, where we can inform about a practise session a day beforehand and we might easily have a 10-20 person turnout.

I see the future of footbag even brighter in Finland, because the Finnish Footbag Association is being organized a lot better and more people are taking responsibility to do the work. Jeremy's point of having a lot of net players is correct - it even helps freestyle, because they help a lot with the organizational stuff.

The Worlds in 2005 will most certainly help the growth of footbag in Finland.

Those are some of the reasons that I could think on top of my head. Obviously footbag is growing in other areas of the world as well, but I'll leave it to the people that live there to inform us better about those areas

My vote was for Finland before this post, but those are some good reasons for my vote. At worlds all the Fins were shredding awesome, I hope I can make it to Helsinki next year. That all depends on if I win the lottery or not though... So most likely I'll miss it...

Doesn't it seem that all European contries seem to "advertise" footbag better than the US? In Europe, they have like phone comercials, news interviews, etc. Even Japan had the Pepsi! Do! Footbag! capaign goin' on.
I know that kid's in the US support footbag, like we've had like demo's at X games and Scott Davidson on the Jenny Jone's (I think it's Jones?) show, and etc. I dunno, it just seems to me that all other countries are doing a very good job, so let's STEP IT UP AMERICA! AND GO MAKE A FOOTBAG PHONE COMERCIAL!

speaking of comercials, I actually had a pretty good "milk advertising/footbag" comercial idea. Okay say you have these skater kids in a circle with a hacky sack. And they're kickin', havin' fun. All of the sudden an old guy with a cane walks up and says a short line like, "Ah, hacky sack, can I join in young 'whippersnappers.'" And then some punky kid makes a remark like, "don't break your hip old man." AND THEN...the old guy would bust into an awesome string (could have a footbagger pose in for the old guy) and then the kids would stand there in amazement. black screen comes up and says, "Drink Milk, Damnit" (or probably, the whole "Got Milk?" slogan since "Drink Milk, Damnit" probably wouldn't be too well suited for the little ones.
