Other Alt. To Lavers?

I use New Balance CT300's after kicking in Lavers for a year. The CT300's are so much better then the Lavers IMHO. The support is great, the toe box is better then Lavers, and the inside is just as good. I credit the CT300's for keeping me in this game. For the last few months I wore Lavers my lower back would kill me for days after even moderate sessions. Now that I'm wearing CT300's my back feels great, better then it has in months or maybe even a year.

This shoe seems pretty good too. (For all those people who don't like the toe walls.) Material could break in, in time. hmmm maybe I'll pick me up a pair of these.

But me, I'm all for the lavers

I'm using Climacool by Adidas now and these shoes have improved my game a lot. I don't have that pain in my back anymore and my legs do not feel sore after 3 hour hardcore session. A few months ago no one could prove me that there are some other shoes which are better than lavers, I used to think if such superstars like Vasek, Ryan and Lon still use Rods, I should too. But now there's no way I'm going back to lavers, f*ck it and the reason is that I care what's going to happen with my legs in a few years form now.

I do recommend Climas to everyone who wants to improve their game and go to a higher level of game.

how are the insides on climas?

they look real light and breatheable. i might go to those, but they are pricy

Yea, they ARE pricy and it's the only bad thing about them. The insides are different from Laver's, I would say my clipper stalls are more precise now.

I forgot to mention that you do not have to modify em, they are ready to shred right out of the box.

Has anyone played in both ClimaCools and 300's/520's and can compare? I've been playing in 520's for about two or three months now, and they're terrific, but I'm interested to know how they compare. After using 520's I can also say that my clippers feel more precise, as well. This is due to the lack of a shoe goo wall and the shoe being more tapered off than the 300 (another shoe I've played in for a while). Can any Finnish players vouch for any specific pair of ClimaCools? These look like VERY comfortable and shreddable shoes, but I'm not sure about which pair is choice, yet. Any help would be appreciated.

I was going to buy them but I didn't. The inside looked too strange for me and they were quite expensive.
You should ask Felix to tell you how good they are. AFAIK he's the one who kinda "invented" them. I also heard that they put silicone to the inside to make them flat.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the inside looking strange. I think, really, I should just go to an Adidas store with some shorts and check them out and see if they're worth it.

What about any other Finnish players who post here occasionally to more frequently? Felix, others? Thanks.

maybe toxic has the same hang-ups with adidas as i do, which is that they are a socially/environmentally negligent company. theres no shoe i would rather get than lavers but the fact that they were made in a sweatshop prevent me from getting them.

im currently in the market for some fair trade shoes that would be good for footbag

no luck thus far hehe

if anyone has any leads let me know!

These are skateboarding shoes and thus very heavy once. For the same price you could get a pair of either Lavers or NB 520/300.

Indeed. And I think that the inside of that shoe isn't flat. (If it's even nearly the same as the outside of the shoe which is too round).

I just got my CT300's from the mail yesterday and they are brilliant. Laces are too long, 'had to do something for them (though I bought these from another Finnish player who had already changed them) and improvise...

Would you say it's safe to say that running shoes can be good for footbag if they have a flat toe and "decent" insides.? It seems that the Climacools are for some people (and climacools ARE running shoes.)

What other running shoes do you think would be good for freestyle?

or should everyone stick to lavers?

I think, it's kinda nice because running shoes have awesome cushion and they're light (I think?). I dunno about material or stalling surfaces though...

Note: I'm not a shoe pro or anything, just throwing some thoughts in here

I had a chance to play in some A3 Ultrarides a few days ago (the shoe Jason Crook uses), and they're doable. The toe sucks, but the inside is HUGE. The shoe is pretty light. It really all depends on your style. I'll personally never buy another pair of Lavers. The 300's and 520's beat them out for me, and I'm sure a ton of other shoes can do the same.

yeah, same thing with the clima cools. Jason can rock in them, and his A3 twinstrikes or ultrarides . . . he goes off in those too. For my style, the ct300 and 520 are great . I tried the prestochangos and they wear out to quick for my tastes.
