i never say "godblessyou" or anything when people sneeze cause thats WACK

how about you all?
some people say weird things after people sneeze.

I just say bless you. Short and simple. I, also, heard alot of crazy saying, "Cat in the hat" whe people sneeze.

I dont say anything, unless its an unusual sneeze, then i comment on it.

Saying bless you is silly, it's because people thought your soul leaves your body when you sneeze, so just so god doesnt strike you down someone says bless you. bah!

hmm that's a weird one...the story ive always heard is when you sneeze it stops your heart during hte sneeze or like messes up the rythm,not fully stop it,so people say god bless you cuase you lived?

I'm pretty sure Seath's explanation is the true one of where the saying originated although yours could be why some people say it now.

my friend yells shut up! whenever I sneeze around him... it's really funny when we're in a public place with people who don't know that we are friends.

i love doing things like that...in movies that really suck,usually me and my friends will do totally stupid and immature things..best one was at 8 legged freaks.had my friend austin make his cell phone ring and i screamed TURN OFF YOU'RE FUCKING CELL PHONE!!!!got some good reactions off that one

kinda the same, ppl around here say that when u sneez ur sneezing out badness and ppl say godbless you so they cant get back in.

(if you keep sneezing, some granmothers will go " ohhh good lord, its the devil")

talk about crazy.

In Japan nobody says anything when somebody sneezes. it`s like it never happened... weird. See Fig. A below for details.

I know what you mean what'sfootbag sometimes people have actually gotten mad at my friend when they thought he was like seriously yelling at me and stuff. The teacher yelled at him when he boo'd me after a presentation I gave, she didn't know that he was my partner...

safe, this has to be a contender for arbest topic of late... but here I am, posting a reply late afternoon.

I usually just say Bless, no you. It's not that I believe anything will come of it but it's just the way I was raised. I do automatically now without trying to be polite.

When I was young, just a bad little kid; my one friend and i used to sneeze on each other with our toungues rolled up so we could spray each other. Truely gross but I have since curbed my foolish ways.

Out of interest, I usually sneeze from my mouth. Most ppl sneeze from the nose and spray snot everywhere then frantically run for a kleenex. I've done that once but never since. Wierd? Oh well...

In Finland we say "terveydeksi" wich means something like "for health"...
well I don't usually say anything but if I see another coming I sometimes yell "gimme an other one! You can do it" and then he/she sneezes again...

I don't generally say anything, but I love sun sneezes. For some reason they just feel really good.

If I go out in the sun and sneeze, I'll look up in the general direction of the sun (not into it, duh) to get another one.

yea, you know how you feel like you're going to lose a sneeze? when that happens, just look at any light source, it'll yank that sneeze right out

also did you know a sneeze is like 1/8 of an orgasm??

that made me laugh for a while.

And I also heard a sneeze is 1/8 of an orgasm, but I think it's like 1/8 the power of an orgasm. It seems impossible that if you sneeze 8 times in a row you'll have an orgasm.
