endurance, stuff

Post by Matt »

I have been noticing that Im to that point where I cant resist doing 1.5 hour sessions every day. It seems like just yesterday I would only go for 15 minutes and it would seem like a good shred. The point of this being, If there are any new people that feel like they dont practice enuf or whatever, or feel maybe the sport is not for them just cause they are not totally obsessed yet, then just wait. Your training will get longer as you gain endurance.

The poll so i can kill two birds with one... post

It took me a really long time to become obsessed with footbag. It does get a lot more fun. I too only kicked for 15 minutes at a time. Then one time Jeremy Mirken came to kick with me. Almost 2 hours we kicked. I thought he was insane for not wanting to stop. Now it seems normal to go at least an hour.

Had a good session tonight. I got my roommate to hit 5 alternating toe stalls and a few legovers.

I totally know what you mean. I used to get so tired, so fast. Now I just play until I have to go somewhere or decide to go eat or something. :) Eh.

for me the duration of a session was set from the beginning. our club's training is every thursday and friday from 5 to 7 pm, so two hours twice a week is standard. in the summer, however, outside sessions usually last at least 3 to a max. of 6 hours.

the main thing for me on learnin to do the butterfly solidly was remembering to set it pretty low. no higher than the knee.

but when you get doing that you tend to just throw it straight to the clipper instead of up (I dont know if this is good or bad). It seems that you can get better sets from a straight up drop.

I usually shred for 20 minutes, but that's because of my schedule.

I spend a lot of time waiting around at bus stops these days so there's a lot of time for footbag there, not including session time.

hehe, I do just the opposite: I'm sitting down 8hours straight at work.. when I get out, I HAVE to jump around (or as the song goes: 'get out of my seat and jump around'). Footbagging really lets me spend all that extra energy I've piled up during the day.

endurance for me was never a prob. I've been active for more than 5 years, most of my life actually, and I can shred for hours on end. I usually don't go more than 5 hours though.

I think I sometimes take fitness for granted though cause when I shred with my 1 buddy he's finished after an hour max and I'm rearing to go. I'll get him into shape...

i usually take about 1 hour to shred, go and play some DDR and then go shred some more

i just found a good carpeted spot about 4 feet by 7 feet to shred in when it is raining or winter in my basement. i know its not that big but better then nothing.

and by the way i set my butterflies into the clipper then fly over it with my other leg.

I can usually shred for an hour, then take a break and keep shreddin. Our club meets and shred from noon till 3:00 or 4:00 pm once a week.

About my butterflies, I set the bag straight up and move forward and diagonal while passing my dexing leg over the bag, and then let the bag fall onto my clipper.

When ur new to footbag, it is very important to warm up and to stretch
before u shred. This is especially important, when u are in a club or circle
with a lot of advanced players, who are well trained and obsessed with
the sport, like i am. i was so impressed by their possibilities and i almost
killled my knees in the desparate attempt to keep up with them, just
because i wanted to reach their level as soon as possible -
So i'm telling all beginners, take ur time, warm up properly and drill
the basics before ur unleash ur hunger for tight strings and big trix in
the circle, otherwise u will look like a fool .
Like that u can increase endurance as well as skill in a manner both
natural and FAST(er than u think at least ) . :)
