Eyes, Knives and Lavers...

Hey,

Ok, I have Lavers but all I've done to them is to widen the toe box, like Kenny does to his shoes in ToTT1.

Should I cut the first few eyelets off? I know this will make toe stalls a bit harder but will it improve other aspects of my game.

If I do cut the eyes off, how should I lace them?

And, finally, I want to do the whole shabang and make 'em super modified (not a bad album btw from Amon Tobin on Ninja tune, anyway...) but I don't want to eff them up because that would be %$#.

Where's the best link to guide you through the modding process?

It will make toe stalls EASIER!!

Because you will be forced to do a proper toe stall. If you are toe stalling properly then you shouldnt need huge sidewalls to catch the bag.

Where are your clipper sidewalls?



Sidewalls are SO passe.

Here's my theory. I bet back in the days when sidewalls were first set up tricks were less set intensive and thus having these walls could only be a help as they added length to your runs by holding onto a bag that would have otherwise fallen off.

While I agree with Tom in one sense, and I do have my walls 'broken down', a part of me wishes I hadn't modded off the eyelets, because I think if I learned pixie set with them on, the end result would have been a lot cleaner, and I would know when I had done a proper pixie set, as it wouldn't get caught on the walls. As it is now, you can sometimes get cheezy, poorly performed pixie set moves, and my pixie sets are fairly weak/inconsistent because of it.

I cut off the walls of my lavers over a year or so ago to learn pixie sets. Now I use walls and can pixie set just fine.

I cut my walls off a couple weeks ago, helps the pixies so much, i reccomend doing it, and like Tom said, it gets rid of that toe stall crutch.

A great way to mod your lavers is to get on webcam with a friend late at night and just decide to go for it!
Me and Jim did this one night. We used our webcams to show what were doing and a few websites were we found out what to do. It was fun, but I shouldn't have done it so late. This was when we both cut the inside out and did the inside of the toe for more feel.
