It's not really supposed to be about any sort of weight difference, and I wouldn't say there is any substantial difference anyway. It's all about the added flex it gives you in your ankles.
I don't think I could ever go back to playing with none Broka'ed Lavers. Too much trouble to bend my ankle enough over that flap.

I played from the spring of this year up until a couple of months ago with the broka mod. It feels alright, but I sprained my ankle 3 times during that. It could have been just coincidence, but I think it makes rolling your ankle a little more dangerous. My clippers are just as good without it.

yea i know, just a notice i made, i also didnt take into account the fact that i changed my laces to shorter dress laces that are alot skinnier, so that and the brocka cut may have made the weight difference. When I crank now my ankle doesn't touch the side so i guess thats better I'm a little afraid of fraying, but hey i need new lavers soon anyways

No, it just helps people whose ankles flex in the part where the mod is done. Some peoples bend right on that spot and they find the Broka helpful, other people's ankle alignment is different and therefore they would find this mod pointless.
I am a little worried about the lack of ankle support and fraying. But I like how much more my ankle can move. It's like I am playing barefooted. As for clippers, It helped a little and I mean a little.
Overall, I wasn't blown away from this mod. But I am still glad I did it.
I think I going to take over Canada. You should help. Get Firefox!
i was thinking about doing this mod, but to keep it clean i was thinking about buying some red rubber tubeing the same collar as my lavers, then doing the cut nice and smooth and krazy glue the tube there, kinda like what hood did to his black lavers in the toe box.
I did the mod about two months ago and all the fray goes away after while. The mod is also really nice for cranking your ankle. I can get really flat with it.
