Thats a moderate pace.

If you personally aren't keeping up with that I would suggest soccer or something.

Just letting you know... Ted and Mosher are just kidding with you .. All their responses have been jokes.

The true answer is that there is no set schedule of how you should improve and what you should practice. Practice basics until it's time to move on, and not before you have them mastered on both sides. Some people learn faster, and some people learn more slowly. Just go at your own pace and don't be too concerned with how fast or slow you should be progressing. As long as you are playing and having fun, improvements will come.

GEEZ DUDE...That'd be a pretty demanding list to follow :) You could take up leaf raking.

Maybe like:

1 Month: Toe delay, consecs
1 year: 5 Guiltless, linking triple dexes
1.5 years: 4 Tripless, barraging, Linking 5 adds
2 years: 4 Fearless, uncommon sets (phasing, sailing)
3 years: 7 Fearless, A few 7 adds under your belt
4 years: Vasek. HAHA

Actually, i don't truly believe in following any schedule. I don't like to feel like I "MUST" do this by "THIS" time. Its how quick you learn. Footjoe on this forum is progressing really fast. He's hitting stuff that i hit with 5 months more experience. I've played about 7 months longer than him too, but yet he just is a quick learner. Obviously his potential list is going to be much greater than mine. Its all how well you learn and the speed at which you learn.

That's sweet...

However, I'd suggest you get your flipside toe stalls ratio up higher than 5 out of 10 before you worry too much about other stuff.

Just practice alternating toe stalls (and always start on your flip so it naturally gets more work). Do this until you can comfortably do about 10 or 20 or something.

you could go my pace.

1st year , kicking - toe stalls, inside stalls, clippers.
2nd year , basics - 1 dex moves, 2 & 3 add moves
3rd year - tiltless combos with more move combonations
4th year - get surgery - guiltless 3 add, 4 add, 5 adds. longer combos.

Take footbag at your own pace. If you're going to push yourself, try to push yourself the right way, don't go till you're crying from shin splints, or till you just quit because you're all kicked out. Do it for the enjoyment and whatever you feel you get out of footbag. If you can find others to play with, that makes it all the better. If you need any tips on some basic things, check out my site sometime, it's pretty beginner friendly.

Ben,

If it makes you feel any better, I been playing for 4 months now about and I haven't hit a mirage or anything 3 add.

Yeah, I am a slow to learn.

It doesn't matter as long as you have fun, fuck time periods.
I think I going to take over Canada. You should help.

Nobody can actually follow something like that, you could try to follow it and see how it works out. One month you might learn alot, and the next month not much, so you can't follow something thats always progessing evenly. It's all about how much you want to learn and how fast you can learn it. If your body won't allow you to progress that fast, take it easy, you don't want to get bored of footbag that quick, you have your whole life ahead of you and many great years of footbag still to come.

No one is a slow learner. There are only fast learners. Saying or declaring that someone or yourself is a slow learner only makes it harder on yourself. THERE IS NO TIME PERIOD. If you don't learn everything vasek did at the pace he did, don't worry about it. He is just a fast learner. That does not mean everyone else that didn't learn at his pace is a slow learner. Where is the dividing line between slow and fast? There isn't!

My 2 cents...

I say take your time as well. You are young and your body will learn quickly once you have the basics down. Don't rush anything and school stuff at your level. It's good to have goals but don't place too much importance on them. I had a goal of 50 inside stalls and it took me ages to get it, but eventually, if you put in the hours, you'll get it; anything in fact.

Anyway, just like the Tao de Ching says, "Great talent ripens late".

I am amazed at how far some shredders have gone in about a year or two. Some people pick things up really quick and some don't. The only person you have to compete with is yourself. If you're improving, you're doing.

peace,
