I feel like a bit of a windbag these days, but I just like polls.
I've maintained the St. John's Footbag Club on .ORG basically since I started playing. It hasn't done anything enormous for me, but I have made a few contacts through the listing, which was an excelent amount of feedback considering the work I put into it.
Please only choose the third option if you genuinely don't know what I'm talking about.

Ive made a few contacts throught it.
Even if you have your club listed somewhere else or you dont think you have enough members for a club you should still list it because footbag.org is generally the first place a new player will go when the learn of footbag (its the top of the google serach, the most popular footbag site) and thus if your club is listed you have 100% more chance of being found by new players then if your not.

That may be true, but as of now I don't want a new player or a person visiting to contact me right now and me to have to say "sorry, but i'm not doing that right now." I guess I might relist sometime soon just so if a new player comes around I can keep in touch until I start kicking more, but I feel kind of bad having a club listed where no one in that club kicks anymore. That was part of the decision for me taking it off, there were 11 listed members and at most you could consider 2 kicking barely at all.BalinorNZ wrote:Ive made a few contacts throught it.

I update the listing about twice a year. I even started putting the date of the updates (in case they don't see it at the bottom of the club page) so people know we're still active. We try and reply to everyone that contacts us as soon as possible and get them to come out and play.

Yeah, I am listed.
I even started my own club (Anchorage Freestyle Association) Since all I heard back form the Anchorage Footbag Club that they weren't shreding anymore.
I make every effort to find new people. I check at the member list every couple of months to see if anybody new has joined.
Also, I liked how LameR add him self under Vaska club.

i think i lied with the 'not getting any contacts' out of my footbag.org listing.... i think that is where Erik Engeberg and Dylan Fry got my contact from

I first got to kick with people because I looked at the club listing and sent out emails to all the people with clubs. Dan Ednie responded from the Melbourne Footbag Club and the rest is history. I also kicked with Lotus for the first time because he had a club listing at footbag.org
At the moment I have a club listing although I'm the only listed member (if not - I've never met the other members) but I think it makes me look more serious and hopefully anyone who looks through the list from my area will get in contact with me.
I think having a club listing certainly doesn't hurt the development of footbag at all and in many cases can help you to get in contact with keen newbies etc (like I was when I used it to get in contact with people) - so it will either have a positive effect or no effect - you've got nothing to lose.

I've had 4 or 5 people contact me since I put up my listing a couple of months ago, the last person contacted me yesterday. Putting up a club listing even if you don't have a club is a Good Thing.

Also, to answer the question .. Yes, I have a club listing on footbag.org, and periodically check to see if any new people in my province have joined so I can harass them with e-mails.
I've met a few people through f.org
