Stress
Hey,
I thought it be cool idea if a thread could get started were people just write what there stressed about or what pissing them off in their non-footbag lives. It could be kind of an outlet for stress.
If you think this is stupid just let the thread die and we pretend it never happened….
Okay I will start:
Right now, I am super nervous about my biology class. I am kind of freaking out about it. I flunked the last exam really badly. You know how professors post the highest and lowest grades of the class. I had the lowest grade in the class of 120 people.
It gets worse, since, I am an underage student at UAA; I will be kicked out if I don’t keep a C average. Right now, I am failing the class. I have to go talk to my professor on Thursday about my exam and I am afraid that he going to suggest I drop out of the class, since he mentioned that anybody getting below a 65 ( I got a 58 ) going to have a hard time passing the course.
My parents will kill me if I don’t get a B. They expect good grades from their children; once my brother got a D in a course and they grounded him in till he retook the course and got a B. I just don’t know what will happen if I don’t do good. My sister gets straight A’s in all her course and they come to expect that.
Also, I nervous because I am going to graduate next year; a year early. I have no idea were I want to go to collage. I haven’t saved up any money for it and I haven’t taken the SAT, Pre SAT or passed the exited exam yet (A required test to graduate high school in the sate of Alaska).
My mom has an eating disorder and I am worried about her health. Really worried.
Well, that’s just some of what I am stressed about. Sorry if it annoyed anybody.
Edit: Oh yeah, feel free to give advice

Politics are stessing me the fuck out.
I've been reading lots and lots and lots of stuff lately on "strange" things that occured on the 9/11 videotapes that we've all seen thousnds of times. It's really troubling to know that the official explanation of 9/11 is not accurate and that shows me that there is some sort of cover up or dare I say conspiracy. This whole 9/11 thing is what is totaly shaping the globe and everything in it. We use it to make new laws like patriot act that take away our rights. I'm worried I might be living in a police state in the next 5 years.
I also am worried that our political system is a sham and there is no way that it can be changed. We have a peice of shit 2 party system that brings two ass clowns into a "choice" for our lives and futures. Both of them are terrible politicians. Two rich boys that dont know or give a fuck about the millions of lives they effect every second.
...
Ive got more but i gonna go watch the political debates to become even further depressed.

All of my classes have gotten insanely boring. I really hate being in class now. I also hate how I never practice or do anything creative anymore. I hate that I've lost my passion for music. I hate that I'm indecisive about who I like, and that the people I like have close to no interest in me, and that the people who like me I have close to no interest in. I hate that I'm just one of those overlooked dudes that none of the popular people pay much attention to, but mainly because I don't know what I can do about it. I also hate that I haven't been in the darkroom for 2 weeks. I also hate how much I'm complaining, when people are starving right in my backyard.
...footbag is good, though.
Feel free to give me advice if you are a highschool graduate or above.

Im stressed out about my Chemistry and Latin class.
In Chemistry my lab grades are kicken but when it comes to the test i jsut freeze up and burn (oxymoron
)
in Latin
its so hard to pay attention because the teacher just talks and talks and there is so much work everynight and then there is a quiz every other day and i just got an 8 on one. Thats right it wasnt a misprint 8, ocho, octo. So my grade in there is pretty much shot.

im stressed out cause im at a point in life where i gotta start making some decisions...
i mean, i have school, which is the normal decision to make, but i also have footbag and judo. i wanna be good at footbag and judo, and still finish school with good grades. and i don't mean good at footbag and judo as in "good", i wanna be exceptionally good. but i dont see how it's even possible to fit all these things in life.
so the stress comes from realizing that i will never reach my goal in these three things, yet i will continue trying, with the feeling that i am wasting my time. and all the while it's making me not do my best in school.

Oi, where to start?!!?
The muffler fell off my car, that needs to be replaced. $110 for that...
My car was broken into (window smashed) $214 for that...
I've got some chest pain due to costochondritis... Taking meds for it...
I'm taking 5 classes (normal 3-4) so I can finish college on time, in addition to 20 hours of work per week. I'm slipping down the slippery slope of procrastination in all of my classes, and I may end up failing a few of them...
I want to buy a car and a house soon, because I'll be getting a real job and a real career hopefully in January or so...
Because of all of these things happening at the same time, I have little time for footbag (though I enjoy it more than everything else, so it eats up a lot of my time anyway!)
I have almost no willpower to sit down and do my homework, so I end up doing everything BUT homework... :(
Throw a lack of sleep, and sleeping problems in general, into the mix too.
I think I'm getting somewhat depressed by all of this crap, and it's really bringing me down. The only thing that cheers me up these days is a good shred. *sigh*
I wonder where I can get a huge bag of candy at 1 in the morning... :P I like candy, candy is good.

I smoke ciggies, I hate them. I had quit until earlier this year for about a year.
I should be training more (kung fu) in my own time and doing my morning routine instead of lying in bed with a smoke and weezing like a pokemon. I have become detached from my centre and need to slow things down a bit in my life. I'm getting back on track though.
I feel I'm letting circumstances dictate my actions lately, instead of just doing what I do and putting other things after the impotant ones.
I kind of have a girl friend but, I don't really feel anything and couldn't be bothered right now. I need to tell her this and will on Friday night.
It's nearing the end of the year and work is getting pretty hectic. This is the period that we do about 75% of our business with all the Universities and bookshops and I go through hell to make sure everything gets ordered and all the lecturers are happy. We are a small firm so, if I don't do my thing, we don't get money, I don't get job and am fucked. I got props from my boss the other day for the reports that I made up for our clients so I'm doing it right, but it can be an up-hill battle. We close for a month in December and I'm counting the hours.
I live with my folks. I moved back in with them because I was thinking of moving to Miami next year. I've decided to stay in South Africa because I have too many things I love here like family, my sifu and kung fu school and my friends. And, work kinda made me want to stay because I can do really well here. I love my fam dearly but once you've tasted the freedom of living alone you can never go back. There are few things as good as smoking a blunt on the crapper on a Saturday morning while paging through a periodical of sorts. I am going to look for a new place next year. I am thinking of buying one but the mortgage thing scares me. 30 years of debt sucks whichever way you look at it.
By next year, 4 out of 5 of my closest friends will have moved away to either London or Cape Town.
We were and still are a tightly knit bunch and even see each other about twice a year; but thems my homies man...
But, it's all good. I'm having a good year, like I had last year and I feel I'm growing and progressing in a few aspects of life.
bitch done

1) I have not smoked a single cigarette in 8 days. I used to smoke 40 a day before I quit. so I'm a bit stressed to say the least. I just can't wait till it will have been three months since i quit: by that time I should be over the physical addiction to nicotine.
2) current gf seems a little hard to keep but I've always liked these kinds of challenges
3) I seem to have very few friends that actually have a job, and I sometimes get jealous that they have all the time in the world to shred/go out/whatever.. but then again having a full-time job offers some sense of security and that's a good thing...
actually things are going pretty well and I'm only really stressed out because of physical withdrawal symptoms from nicotine.
oh, oh, oh here's a bit of advice for all you non-smokers out there:
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE START SMOKING CIGARETTES. By no time you'll be smoking a pack a day, and no, they won't taste good, you'll just be smoking them near-unconsciosly, and it'll burn a whole the size of Asia through your wallet.
I'm sure innesmile will agree with me on this.

Fully man. There's nothing to be gained and everyhting to lose. Smoke weed yes, not cigs. I will quit by the end of this year. There's no way I'm doing London as a 30 a day smoker, I need beer money!DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE START SMOKING CIGARETTES. Fuck smoking.
Well done Max dude, but don't stress about it so much. You're doing a good thing man, I will follow soon.

Great thread idea. Now prepare for the largest post of this thread possibly:
Ok, well ever since last Monday, I've had to start going back to school. It had been 5 weeks off since the last term, and the summer term was pretty easy going. 13 credits, not too difficult. The only problem was my english teacher who was a real...well, you get the point.
Anyways, after 4 weeks off of doing nothing, the last week a friend of mine moved closer to me, which was really cool. If you had read my blog before and i said things like "I'm hanging out with a girl...hehe", thats what i was talking about.
However, a week later, I had to start the fall term of 2004. Well, lets just say, even though I knew i was in for a big term, I didn't know how hard it would be on me.
Heres my schedule for the week:
Monday/Wednesday:
8-9 Get up and ready
9-10 Drive 40 miles to get to Grants Pass to get to Rogue Community College
10-11:20: Maintenance and Trade Lecture
11:20 - 1: Lunch
1-4:20: Maintenance and Trade Lab
4:20 - 5:30: Waiting till my next class
5:30 - 6:20: Computer Lecture
6:30 - 8:20: Computer Lab
8:20 - 9:10: Drive 40 miles back home
9:20 - Whenever: Bitch about my day to my friend Stephanie.
Tuesday/Thursday:
8-9: Get up and ready
9-10: Drive 40 Miles to Grants pass etc.
10-11:20: Auto Electricity Lecture
11:20 - 1: Lunch
1-4:20: Auto Electricity Lab
4:20 - 5:10: Drive home
5:30 - Whenver: Bitch about my day to anyone.
As you can probably determine, I am in the automotive program and have 3 terms under my belt. NOTBAD! That schedule, however, is a 17 credit schedule. Factor in large amounts of waiting time between some classes and 80 miles total driving and you get a very Pissed off Shredster at times...
This creates a very high stress level for me. I have quite a bit of homework, though it isn't really that tough. It still adds to my stress. Also, when people go driving 15 mph under the limit the entire time, or do stupid stuff like driving fast/slow, or, well you get it, it makes me very mad because all i want to do is get to my destination.
This is not to say my schedule isn't the "hardest" or the "Toughest". I know people that work much harder than me, and have much longer schedules than me. But still, for an 18 year old (almost 19), I have decided that this schedule is pretty stressful.
That is a large part of my stress.
This school, however, has decreased the usage of one of my stress reducers. Footbag has been less of a regular activity. My damn schedule is so busy that my practice time is definatly not daily, nor is it as long as it should be anymore. However, even though i haven't been able to practice as much as i had been, or as much as i have wanted to lately, surprisingly, I did better than before school started (meaning yesterday).
On top of that:
That girl that moved near me (about 15 miles south of me to be exact), well, we, so to say, really like each other. I told her this and she said the same to me. So yeah, i was excited, but the only problem is is that she does not want to start a relationship because her ex boyfriend bugs her a ton (and i don't mean nice bugging, i mean, calling her at 3 in the morning, insulting her, etc.) The funny thing was is that he used to be one of my best friends.
So for that matter, she wants to get things more straightened out with him before we turn our attention more directly towards each other. Which definatly makes sense and I respect that decision. BUT, it still sucks because that dick of an ex friend of mine is screwing things up. I say ex friend because he was a good friend of mine. Then he pissed me off, then he pissed me off even more by pissing my friend Stephanie off. Then Stephanie gets all this crap from Josh now.
So yeah, anyways, that is another thing adding to my stress level.
Factor in my inability to sleep as long as i like (7 hours maybe?) I can't sleep deep, thats for sure. So I'm definatly cranky when i get up. I am very tired when i get home, and on top of that, i don't feel good (sick type if you know what i mean). Not to mention, since stephanie lives 15 miles away from me, and because i have such a long schedule, its difficult to see her. I can only see her about 5 days at a time (which isn't much to some of you I know, but man, when you enjoy being around someone that much, 5 days kills you).
ALL OF THIS CRAP is making me really stressed.
Anyways, sorry for the long post. If you read this all the way through, i salute you because you just listened to the largest ventings ever produced from my brain to my fingers.
