Kingston Footbag Militia Chronic-als - back in action
Sorry this didn't go up sooner; I've been working almost straight since I saw you guys.
Crazy amazing shred from everyone last thursday!
Tom: You have more FUN with footbag than most people I know, and it really is contagious. A lot of people get into the "working on footbag" thing and forget that it's still the same fun game of kickbag they used to do in pants, and that you can still have a lighthearted & casual game with some friends for a while.
It's something I mean to keep alive in FAT.
Bagi: So great to meet you! You have the work ethic and natural style to become so good, there are already things you can do that I've just been figuring out myself! I'm glad you have it in mind to work on consistancy; if it comes along like everything else, you'll be surprised at how suddenly your runs will get longer. I sometimes don't meet new footbaggers as often now as when I was super new... but shredding with you was certainly a highlight! Tom can teach you so much, he has a philosophy about footbag that is really productive.
Hope we get to do it again soon!
Thanks again!

Awsome Sunday shred everyone!!
First I was all alone with the jugglers, then Tom showed up, then GREG SHOWED UP, WOW. Can't wait until he brings a pair of shorts to play
Then Derick shows, just woke up @ 3 of course!
Greg is sick!
Tom footed xanabox like 8 times!!
Derick is crazy!
I hit:
DATW 4 times (2 on each foot in one string)
symp whirl
illusion>toe>illusion>toe>symp mirage>toe>symp mirage
infinity x7
double switchover>paradon (1/3 of xanabox)
18 tiltless, unique
Heres a very fun drill: pixie ss clipper>leg over rpt, it SEEMS easy, try it.
KFM! KFM! KFM! KFM!

Thursday! Thursday! Thurssssdaaayy!! I look forward to thursday night more than any other night of the week.

Jake is still a no-go.
What am I supposed to do to help Jake love foobag again?

KFM last night was great! I didn't suck for once!!
I could spin!! (paradon>merkon rpt!)
Greg Raymond stepped back into the circle after a long hiatus!!!!
It was great to see him out again, I am stoked he has good shoes now. (g's)
Bagi and Derrick were solid as ever, I am stoked to have those two keeners on the team.
I want to help Jake out and help him remember how great footbag is.
He's a real solid kid and I think he can excel at footbag, he just needs to keep at it. It's tough being at his stage but it's about to be so fruitfull!
I wish him the best.
Man, I want to shred again, three days in a row!

Hello to all Kingston people. More specifically to people who kick beads and steal balls wrapped in synthetic suede. This is John Bagi calling out all local shredderz for a mid-week shred sesh tomorow sometime. I don't have Greg's number so Tom or Derrick if one of you wants to call him that would be great. I can't wait to bust out tomorow! My left knee has really been hurting after trying all those pixie double switchovers a few days back. Although, the die-hard trainer that I am I must go test out my knee tomorow.
I hope I'm all safe and hope to see some of ou out there. (I'll call to confirm time)

Yaaaawwwnnn. Then a little rattle, to shake the dust off this blog.
I wrote a big, great, awesome, epic, and amazing post last night but then my comp went silly. Here I am the next morning and don't really know what to write about. To start, the KFM is an awesome club that will grow and become a family again. We are composed of Derrik Ogden, Greg Raymond, me, and our newest member Stefan Audet (she's gonna be sick). The four of us have potential to go really far with footbag and bring it to new heights in Kingston.
Greg: I look up to him. He's got such a positive attitude and effects everyone around him. Such a bright guy, thanks for shining a light on this club, Greg. He's also really good at footbag. Some of you might now him from his days in Vancouver. A guiltless shredstar who is so eager to train and keep getting better. These are the kind of people footbag clubs need.
Derrik: One word, SICK. Thats really all I want to write about him.....but, there is more. Derrik wants this club to go far as well. He's been here for a couple years now and he's the only original member remaining. He's by far our most skilled player. He stitches now too which is crucial because me and him can fill the void that Tom and Peng left. I'm going to convince him to do long strings, then he'll take over the world.
Stefan (Fanny, Fan): Our lil shredstar. She's only been playing for a month and she's already been to a Worlds. She's got her toe stalls, insides, she has hit ATW, mirage, legover, and clipper. Can't wait to see what she can do in a year. I noticed that she is KFM's hottest attraction too. Our shred-scene is central downtown and Kingston is FILLED with tourists all summer. When people stop to watch they watch her. Now she is pretty pretty but everyone watches her. The women, children and men. It must be because its "hacky sack" to them and chicks don't normally get into athletic-wear and play that "stoner-sport". Yah, she's great.
Mystery Shredstar Jason: Ok so this guy has been around for years, apparently. He was on the scene even before Tom Mosher was playing in K-Town. I've heard that he has ill-style. I'm friends with his ex-girlfriend and she has told me he really wants to play. It would be monumental if I could reel this shark in. Lets HOPE.
As for me. I have three devotions in life right now: 1-God 2-School 3-Footbag For footbag to be so high on my list is amazing. I found out after Worlds that I really want to pursue this sport, long term. Things like, Kick Ass Three, and performing at public schools (to raise awareness) are racing across my mind. If I can have any impact on this sport it can be to spread awareness. When more kids know about it it'll grow rapidly. It's addictive and fun. It gives people another reason to jump around. Everyone loves to jump around.
Until next time, thanks for reading and tune in more often, PeacE.

Hey John,
Let's get something straightened out...
KICKASS is an acronym, not just a name of the event!!!!!
Kingston Invitational Circle Kicking And Shred Symposium!
If you REALLY REALLY want to step up to throwing it then lets talk, there is very very much involved.

Tom- Yeah thats a good acronym and I did know that already. KAT's not official, don't know if I like it yet. It's a double acronym, just like BAP is. Y"all neva heard? Boyeee? Thanks for the offer too.
We played last night, all four members together for the first time.
Stefan hit mirage BS. Derrik hit food bsos, no biggie though. His blenders are stellar. Surging blender too, awesome. Greg wore a pair of Lavers that were way too small. His play was cut short because of the shoes. His new UNITS are on the way. Can't wait until the three of us are in full flight.
Haha, after everyone went home I stayed and played until it got dark and couldn't see the bag anymore. This guy noticed me playing and came to talk. I tried to explain to him that I was playing footbag NOT hackysack. He didn't care to understand. He stated that he was a ex-professional snowboarder from Whistler BC and that he knew some INSANE hackysackers. He began to gesture moves that they could do. Like, inside kick to sole kick and outside stall to inside stall. Then he was waiting for me to be blown away, as if these tricks were really tough. It was dark so I guess he hadn't really seen exactly what I was doing. I mentioned that I had just returned from the World Footbag Champs in Florida and he started to get a little more interested in this "footbag" topic. I did like 5 clippers some butterflys some toe shuffle and capped it off with a DATW. The dude just jetted off. Started RUNNING!......away from me!
Thats why I play footbag.
My play was...meh. I hit paradox torque first try, ever...I think. Smudge bsos.
See y'all tomorrow.

played in new units last night. need further modifications. lacing was loose, toe walls need to be cut, still need brocka mod.
was fun to have the whole crew out. 2 sessions in a row with 4 of us. good times. derrick's a crazy man. he's always hit huge tricks but his strings have really been coming together over the past few months. stefan has super clean style. nice clippers! jon's very smart about his progression, and it's paying off. solid style & hitting quite difficult tricks.
hit some good ducking stuff, frontside felt awful till i relaxed a bit & played lon-style. i sometimes feel like i channel the footbag energy of those i watch online for extended periods. with all the recent worlds footage, i've been inundated with penske & lon goodness. good influences, and playing loose definitely helped with adjusting to the stiffness of the new shoes.
time to start schooling solo sessions this eve to throw some new tricks into the circle.
see you ladies & gents on thursday.

I'm strongly considering this Camp Wakawhatever thing. Sounds like it will be a blast.
Wow, today was a better than usual shred meeting. Unfortunately Greg couldn't make it because his bike got smashed or something. I'm really curious to find out what happened to it. Fanny was busy visiting with her family so she sat this one out as well. Just me and Derrik on the scene.
The past few workouts have been difficult and tiring. I think worlds made me realize how far I still have to come. I'd get upset at myself for not hitting huge stings, but I never do huge impressive strings. I think when I got back from Florida I thought I was better at footbag than I really was. All good now though. A couple angry sessions later and I'm all happy and on track again. I just had to understand that I suck. "Nothing of value comes without being earned" - Michael Jordan.
Derrik hit whirr bsos, YEAHHHHH. Props Derrik. Also, blurry whirl>blurry whirl>paradox blender. A bunch of other stuff too. Damn I should start writing down what he hits when we play, there's soooooo much.
I'm getting better at my flip whirl. I hit: rip walk rpt, symp whirl bsos, mid string swirl (Derrik agreed that it was perfect, best swirl yet), and dark walk.
Hope I can make it out with you tomorrow Greg!

nice stuff jon & derrik!
my tire got punctured by a 2 inch screw when i was riding home, had to drop it off at the cycle shop & bus it home.
i had a good solo session in my parking lot. i've determined that regardless of the side effects, i cannot play in socks. those extra millimetres of fabric between my foot & the bag is unacceptable!
hit blender > drifter both sides. spinning is coming along, and figured out fairy sets kinda. worked on atomics & dlos as well. felt productive.
i'll be in market square around 5.30 today for shredz.

Solid shred KFM! Short but sweet. I stayed later though, and then dunked my head into the water fountain. I was so dehydrated that I even drank a little out of it.
So, we took the weekend off (at least I did) to re-coop so that I could shred harder the next time. I sure did shred hard.
ducking clipper rpt x4
9 ducking clippers in a string
weaving bs for the first time
zulu bs (not sure how to spell) for the first time
symp ss mirage>pixie symp mirage
paradox blender (out of no where) i love it when that happens
Gotto go to bed! Sorry Greg and Derrik. I'll dedicate my entire next post to you guys. Thanks for playing with me!!
