Kingston Footbag Militia Chronic-als - back in action
Hey Everybody!
Derrick had a good idea and suggested that we start up a KFM blog to talk about what goes down at our sessions and so on.
So this is our new KFM related talk place.
Info:
Our club meets every Thursday at 7PM in the Biosciences Complex on Queen's Univeristy campus.
The club is comprised of:
- John Bagi
- Derrick Ogden
- Greg Raymond
- Stefan Audet
(Tom Mosher & Pengpeng Du have lifetime honorable memberships)

I forgot to mention a few other highlights:
- I hit 22 osii with my Johnny Suderbag, which is by far my new record
- my fairy/atomic ducking was ON
- For the first time, Jared called one of my tricks The. It totally was too. It was a barrage and it was way missed. Good work Jared, you'll keep me clean.

ah, hahaha... I remember last year when Aric started saying, "that was a little thin, you need to set higher and spin faster. kinda the..."
it's really satisfying when your newbies start doing non-newbie things like that.
So, when are these other fabled KFM conscripts going to post about their stuff?
I want to hear it from the horses' mouth!!!

My shred session with Jared and Tom went pretty well. I got there way before Tom, so i ended up playing for a while, to warm myself up.
I hit..
-Phoenix first try, almost stepped out.
-Nine infinities, new record(i will beat it very soon)
-I hit some blurr's and a blizzard which was The, but i hit two earlier that day.
- Phasing sets
- A string of pick up>pick up>far pickup>far pickup
- I hit two back to back ripwalks which felts really good.
-Nuclear clipper
-Fairy ducking clipper

I suppose I should pipe up here, but it's fairly depressing listing my meager accomplishments next to those of Derrick and Tom's. I'm basically just working on my style and consistency. I want to be able to bust really long strings of two adds like it's nobodies business.
In order to promote these goals, (which i share with the rest of KFM as far as wanting to be able to hit longer strings goes) we're gonna start playing "FOOTBAG" - where you have to hit a string longer than your last string in the circle or you get a letter. Should be fun.
On thursday i got a little more confident with my clipper set mirages (which i've probably hit before, but not consistently) and realized just how weak my left leg is... I'm having some serious trouble controlling my clipper, getting that nice soft set every time... It's soemthing i need to drill. Mirages feel really easy now, they're pretty much a bail, along with around the world's. My left legover is really shitty, and i haven't really hit any clean illusions since those ones a few weeks ago.
ah well, drill>drill>rpt, right?

Yes!I want to be able to bust really long strings of two adds like it's nobodies business.
I am really glad to here this. If their was one thing that struck me as disheartening at GLASS it was that most people had mediocre to medium length string lengths. The only person who really sticks out in my mind as having beastly lengths was Jonny we could conistently lay down dope runs every turn.
I tend to believe that short string lengths are just as ugly, if not uglier, than a bad style and lack of BSOSness. Work those tiltless moves until 10 contacts is nothing at all to be proud of. Then progress to schooling your Butterflies, Osis' and Paradox Mirages to the point where you could hit three hundred and fourty-one of them.
Like it said in Alex Strassman's post, it took Lon Smith 3 YEARS to become Guiltless, and look at how great his contact length/style is. It's 'cause he took so long to hone each of his concepts.
Anyways, this is something I am very passionate about, and I would love to see the KFM be just as known for BSOSness as it is for HUGE contact length.
Shred on.

I put down a ripstein on the less good ripstein side tonight.
And I am in love with double down tricks. I chucked out pixie paradon for derrick both sides. and I footed blurrage first try one side then hit pdx barrage first try on the other side. I hit like.. 5 or 6 ducking clippers back to back.
I am really happy with how my akward feeling clipper has sorted itself out. My foot is getting way happier making a nice cup for the bag.
I was almost on zooming scorpions tale. soon.
I need a glasses strap like Aric Macintosh, that's so smart. If you rearrange Aric MacIntosh you can make... Aric can mosh it!!! hahahahahah
I am going to go tell him in the R(IT)FA blog.
WOOOO!!! Footbag! We all have clubs and we're cool and we love eachother!!'

it took Lon Smith three years to become guiltless!? Woah! That's awesome! Great news for me! I'm taking it nice and slow and making sure (now) I do both sides everything and that I get things down cold before I move onto the next.
Remember my name. I shall be the next Lon Smith. . in like five years.

so i posted the video from last night's session that i took. to be honest, the more i watch it, the less i like what i've done with it, but it's too late now. you can find it in the 'request' thread in videos. i figure that the more difficult it is to create something, the better the art - and the tools at my disposal for this were pretty cruddy, so it must be great art, right?
