That's a very poor analogy. It's more like going into a shop that
states in various places that they
don't serve nuts, and then having them serve you nuts.
As a community, over the past decade+ of discussion here on this forum, we've come up with some clear and simple guidelines about what is considered appropriate and responsible content. These are not hard to understand. People may forget themselves from time to time, and that's fine. That's what moderators are for. It doesn't need to blow up into a "CENSORSHIP!!!" argument every time where people get upset and say things they don't mean.

Whether or not
you were offended is not germane to this situation. I most certainly
was offended. I get offended by homophobes and BS like this guy was spouting. I'm not ashamed of this. But this is completely irrelevant too. Nick himself acknowledged in plain language that the video was blatantly offensive in multiple ways; ways that are detailed in the rules for exactly this sort of situation. Just because
you have a thick skin and find hate-speech funny or whatever, does
not mean that all of us do, or that we have to abide by your definition of offensiveness. The community as a whole decided this sort of content shouldn't get played. It's that simple. Apparently you missed that discussion, or failed to prove your point effectively enough for it to affect the consensus.
Add Block wrote: Also, now that everyone is scared to write anything because of you getting offended by everything,
Hyperbole. Nobody is scared. People should
think about what they're posting and whether or not it will violate the rules. If they can't do that they'll get moderated and eventually banned of they're just being jerks about it.
This isn't personal. The rules are clear and unambiguous. The video in question clearly and unambiguously violated them. Period.

I still remember the hateful PMs Cass sent me after I politely disagreed with her in her blog,
Private messages versus
public posts. You know well that there's an obvious difference.
Add Block wrote:While I do not get offended, I do think the admins are picking the wrong side, yet again. While Nick has done nothing wrong and contributes a lot to our society, you keep supporting toxic individuals that do nothing for us.
You sure sound offended, but whatever. Again, this isn't a personal thing. The only side I've picked here is the rules. If you've got a problem with the rules, cruise on over to the meta forum and start a discussion about how you think people should be able to post hate-speech under the guise of stand-up "comedy." Lobby to have the rules changed instead of making irrelevant personal attacks and speaking hyperbole about how freedoms are being restricted unnecessarily.

If you're an admin and you can read through people's PMs, you should check what she sends to people.
First of all, I would never,
ever do this in a million years. The system doesn't allow it, and if it did, I'd disable it. I'd have to dump the database and manually comb through it to do this. Yuck.
Again, there is obviously a massive difference between public and private discussion, so I have no idea why you bring this up here other than to smear Cass. This is unnecessary.
I like Nick a lot. I like Cass too. I like you too, Vojta. I wish this didn't have to be a thing. I hope we can just move on from here without a bunch of bad feelings. Play footbag!!
Thanks.
