lol, I tried that this weekend when I was visiting North Carolina... my friend didn't know what footbag was so I was showing him right after our movie and after 2 minutes, a security guard came out and waved me away. Oh well, it's gonna be a lasting memory because that was the first time I was kicked out of anywhere for footbag.. fun stuff

thats funny because we were kicking on the plaza near some closed shops at about 10pm. it was the only place that was light around there. we though we were going to get kickout out pretty quick, but we had a security guard mezmorized for a good 30 minutes. i got it banned from my school. but i ignored them and kicked anyway.

lol I think the worst thing my fellow hackers (they don't freestyle... but I do) have done is when we were trying to keep a hack going I kicked a fire extinguisher case (which is plexi-glass btw) and it SHATTERED. All my friends ran away and I took a small piece with me and tried to shove the rest of it back in the extinguisher case. Right after I got it in a custodian walked by and said "wuzzup" to me. All my friends were LAUGHING THEIR ASSES OFF about it. And there was this other time that I got kicked in the face... you see, I was going for a neck stall but this freshman (who is like... the second best freestyler now) didn't realize it and was going for a HARD toe kick and I didn't move and there was blood everywhere. Ouch... I think I can still feel that. My eyes watered up and stuff... ewww and they all went and got wet paper towels while I stood in the band room with my nose f'd up. Everyone in there was like staring at me and a few were laughing and a bunch of my friends told me to go to the nurse. But I was like "no... if I do that they'll ban us from playing". So I stuck out the pain for like.... a day and then my nose took like a week to heal all for footbag! And it's still not banned!

When is the X Games? Aug. 15-19th at the First Union Complex in Philly, PA.

What events are going to be represented? None. Footbag is not a part of the actual events. We are just going in there and showcasing it as an action sport. One step at a time.

What materials do you make your bags out of? It is a soft synthetic suede. Like any of the other bags on worldfootbag.com. I believe facile may be a slightly softer material than regular synthetic suede. I have unfortunately never had the opportunity to even see a facile footbag, I don't think. Ellis Piltz from http://www.Flipsider.com is coming to the X Games, so I am sure he will bring some of his to show me.

Why do you say the things you do on your site? Is it to be cool, or to reach out to a certain group of people, or what? Well, we are not marketing moguls or anything. I made the website to attract myself, hehe. Really though, I just do what I think is "cool." Sometimes it actually works out that way, and sometimes it doesn't.

Anyways.. if you make good bags we'll all hear about it anyways in a few months just by word of mouth. So anyways.. props to you. Thanks, man.

i met kenny schuyler once while playing footbag at riverside gardens in red bank, new jersey (i guess he's from around the area, but i'm really not sure where he's from... anyone know?)

i think his form of "extreme footbag", freestyle trials, or whatever the hell you want to call it, is pretty damned cool. to those who say it may not be the best way to introduce people to footbag need to realize that there is a lot more than just freestyle footbag. i think people should be introduced to all kinds (freestyle, net, etc.) so they can decide for themselves what kind they like the best. i'm sure i'll always be a freestyle player at heart myself, but i definitely think its pretty neat how people can come up with so many different ways to have fun with footbag.

Ok, here's my thoughts on the possibility of Footbag being successful at the X-Games, after watching some BMX and stuff.

I think that people who watch extreme sports want to see some level of danger. That's what keeps things like BMX exciting. What if Dave Mirra eats in on the double backflip? What if... and those split second motions that determine the release of a viewer's tension. That's what makes the X-Games fun to watch for the majority of the watchers, who don't understand the technical stuff, and of course very few would understand footbag and there's really no danger involved so the average X-Games viewer would find it about as lame as a juggling competition (no offense Rob

Yeah, of course there's the initial mind-blowing effect of it all, but as my friends have told me after getting bored of seeing what I do, there's really nothing exciting or extreme for someone who can't process all the technicalities and understand the difficulty of it.

It takes a trained eye to appreciate footbag. Good luck finding enough of those out there to invite it into the X-Games.

By the way, (mark this Jonathan,) today I did this:

Diving clipper > whirl > symp whirl > pdx whirl > ...

I freakin' LOVE THIS GAME!!!

flatland bmx isn't that dangerous. it's pretty damned rad though, and it's in the x-games.

Dito man. I kicked with the WFA bags for my first two years then i swtiched to Dirt bags.. Humungus Bags and then to Richies, Mels, Carols, and now Mike Wilsons. There is absolutly no comparing the two. Facile is 100x better. I'd say look into the good stuff. That synthetic crap will never break in as good as any facile bag. Sorry to bash you so much. Its my thang:)

They never show it though. If they do, it's only for a minute or two. And it's alot more dangerous than footbag.

i can't speak for speed climbing, but i've hurt myself far more times in footbag than i ever did in flatland (granted it was like 5 years ago and i wasn't awesome).

I'm all in for publicity as big as the X-Games, but what I'm worried about is how bad corporations will screw up with bringing out the complex view of footbag. I don't want them marketing it like some new yo-yo or power rangers action figure......
