AH!

Havent had a good outdoor session since Sunday, man its killing me. I keep trying to play indoors but my family keeps cracking up lol. So i've only had a few short rushed sessions.

What time i have had has been used working on my flipside pixie and flipside PLO. I really like PLO>Smear>pixie butterfly and hopefully i could get it on tape soon and get in a sick 3 contest. I've also footed Swirl a bunch of times but im finding hard to seal it and continue playing.

Ah well im off school now and hopefully the weather will pick up cos i'll have tonnes of free time for the next couple of weeks.

Forgot to mention, i got a few mr sandmans for a couple of guys at the start of the week. I was looking at .org and it looks like hes registered there! Hes hitting atw and occasional clipper so things are taking a step in the right direction to have another shredder here!

P.s Hit Osis both sides. Its very strange trusting your foot to stall it without having full vision. And thank you Matt Cross I've been reading alot on what you've said about it! Still needs TONNES of work but at least i've hit it properly at least once on each side.

First day of the easter Hols and its St Patricks day! Not bad...

Since it was my first day off school for a while i promised myself a long shred today and in total got around 2 hours my longest shred in ages.

It was a wet start so i spent around half an hour indoors warming up and drilling my swirls and osis. I really love the style in both these tricks and am getting close to hitting both tricks consistently on both sides. Especially my osis but its gonna be a longtime until i can hit them midstring.

Outside and i went and my legover>mirage drill is starting to get good. I hit a nice 15 (or so) contact run at a good intensity which was really pleasing. Schooled butterfly>butterfly again but am really finding that flip butterfly troublesome. Hitting pdx mirage really nice now and have got to the level i can hit it midstring. Its so nice to be able to hit new tricks on a run.

Did plenty of schooling of my PLO>Smear>Pixie butterfly rountine but after a short break i couldnt hit my flip pixie at all. Man it was really aggrevating. So more pixie drills are needed and i hit a new pixie>pixie record...13!

CRUNCH!

Thats the sound my toe made when i hit it of a door frame this morning. Was messing about in my hall and ended up kicking a door frame. lol

But man it hurts, I've tried shredding with it but its just way to painful. What sucks is i had today free for a good few hours shred before i have to go away for the weekend, man this sucks.

I sympathise with you injured guys completely and hopefully after my weekend away i'll be able to shred pain free.

See you guys on Monday.

Long time no shred :(

So i made up for it with a pretty long session today split into two halves. No new tricks but was working alot on pixie set again especially flipside smear and PLO. Was also working on my flipside butterfly hitting Mirage and Pdx mirage out of it.

Spend the second half of the session working on run length...man i love busting long intense runs. The other guy i was talking about seems to be progressing really well and were getting a shred in on thursday.

Bruised my ankle at work tonight but have got no pain at all in toes now :D

I'll see what i can do Daniel :D

I want to get good at footbag and need to continue being motivated and challenged. Therefore it seemed a good idea to create a challange thread so you guys can watch me suffer

I've got somethings i want to hit myself and it would be fantastic if you guys could add to it!

Had another shred split into two sessions again today.

Not alot of new tricks but was just trying to increase run length and stamina. I've noticed the amount of clippers i drop has decreased significantly and i got a 20 second tiltless run...so close to my 30 second Goal.

I'm so happy to get some posts in my challenge thread already and am going to get to work on them right away. I'm really happy that illusion>pickup was said because my pickup from right clipper and flip illusion need ALOT of work.

Got a shred with a couple of guys from school tomorrow aswell and im really looking forward to it. One of them has been practicing alot with the sandman i gave him and it should be fun to shred.

Well later guys...

Awesome work thom.

It is awesome you have got other kids into the sport. Very impressive.

I saw in your challenges you want to hit whirl. I am trying to hit that at the moment and have footed. However when i first tryed it 6 months ago, i would get pains in my knee so i stopped doing it. I recommend you watch vasek do it in slo mo if you have trouble with it. That helped me alot.

keep up the good work
peace hagesy.

Alright update on what i've been up too.

Had a fun session on Thursday morning before being called to work. The guy who i gave the sandman too has improved vastly in the past 10 days. He was hitting runs of three or four tricks and considering he couldnt do a atw 2 weeks ago its really good going.

Yesterday had another good session and im finding where im going wrong in some of my game. Im struggling with my flip butterfly and setting from it and not planting my feet in pdx mirages but i think the latter in down to practice.

In reference to my challenge thread Im really close to hitting Illusion>pickup>illusion>pickup x5 and should hit that in my next session. But for the life of my a cant do symp. mirages. I just cant jump that high of one leg, lol. I hit PLO>PLO x2 and suddenly hitting x5 doesnt seem that far away.

Anywho, hopefully by my next session I'll have a few challanges completed and a few more to give myself. Later Guys

Another session with Andrew today, its way more fun to shred with company. Didnt have a great session though although i started hitting PLO and Smear pretty fluently midstring and it felt really good.

My flipside clipper really sucked today. Didnt feel at all natural and dropped it loads, wasnt fun.

However I did hit magellan for the first time and am close to hitting Nurs challenge. Just Pdx troubles are keeping me back.

I need to shred more :D

haven't been on modified for a few weeks so I wanted to see how you've been doing. I'm liking this "plo and smear midstring" action. Very nice. Alright well that's it. Just wanted to say keep it up, I'll be your blog's biggest fan, and that I was seeing about going to Ireland for a year abroad. We shall see and play it by ear. ROCK ON.

Hmm had a varied session today. I hit krafty's atw > mirage > pixie > illusion rpt challenge after only a couple of attempts. The rest of the session was pretty fustrating. I just felt really tired and dizzy and was just struggling to maintain my focus.

Had some food and plenty of water and came bag. Was feeling alot better. Kraftys challenge acted as a really good drill to warm up with and i just practiced my clipper>opp clip.

As i said earlier I was having trouble with my pdx mirage so i spend the rest of the session drilling. Wasnt much fun at first but had to be done. I'm hitting regularly on my flipside now but from my right clipper i've got the dex down but instead of stalling it, my leg kinda instinctively kicks it away, but it'll come.

The other hole in my game at the minute is my flip butterfly, I'm just not getting adequate crank to set from it, man its fustrating. The next step is just to keep repeating my insides and clips.

In between drilling i just tried some of my short guiltless runs. The highlight being PLO>Smear>Butterfly>Osis. Plus i footed torque a few times 8)

Thanks for the encouragment hagesy, it really helps. Since that session I've been really trying to school my flipside clipper hoping to get that crank and natural feel that I have on my right side.

See ya soon!

31/03/05

After yesterdays quite strenuous pdx mirage drilling i felt a bit sore and tired.

One of the guys i gave a sandman to gave me a text to meet at 11 am for a hack. We had a pretty fun chilled out session, more kicking than hitting runs.Although I did hit ducking clipper and osis midstring a few times but im failing to do a trick again after them.

Andrew (the other guy I gave a Sandman to, lol) called over to collect a couple of CD's later on in the day. Again we were both feeling a bit tired so the session was very laid back. Although my basics runs, (which had gone missing in the first session) came back to me and i was feeling better about my game. No new tricks were hit but im hoping that sessions like these will add fluency and consistency to my game, aswell as making me more confident in front of people.

I really hope Andrew continues to develop and play footbag. I set him the challenge of hitting a 5 contact tiltless string last Thursday. Today he succeded by hitting;

ATW(in)>ATW(out)>pixie>legover>legover

Its so much more fun playing with company and I'm hopeful that he'll continue playing!

Had a relaxed session today. Worked hard on flip clipper, diving clipper and maintaining good run lengths.

Short session today. Conditions were far from ideal, it was raining so underfoot was pretty damp and I had to wear longish swim shorts. Anyway enough of the excuses, lol.

Again focused mainly on my flip clipper. Its beginning to feel alot more natural and im hitting tricks out of it more frequently. Ducking wasn't really there today and flip butters are definately getting better. My Pdx is definately getting better but after alot of schooling it gives me bad shin splints which isnt too cool. Tomorrow my aim is to hit three in row both sides.

Its sad how much i missed my footblog when i couldnt access modified. When writing these 'reports' I can step back and analysis a session, even if it was terrible I can take positive points from it to improve on. I also really missed the ablility to share my footbag woes with others and receive support and tips from them which often provide great motivation to play footbag and get better.

So Thanks to you guys for reading, modified for providing such a great forum and to Mike for being so helpful in getting me back online.

You guys rock!
